buck stops with roy. the sum total performance of the team is way less than sum of the individual parts. Roy's tactics bare most of the blame. paying for draws in every game gets you killed when one in your team makes a mistake. this we are lucky to have roy thing is hogwash. credit he gets for saving us 2 seasons ago, but thats just it. BFS also did that. how about the sale of AWB,genius? NOT. Loan of CW, genius NOT. the not playing of riedewald till you have to, genius? Hardly. "he did not get any backing in the transfer window"..TRUE? HARDLY - like his liverpool stint where he almost ran them to the ground. now, has he done well elsewhere, well yes, but more through the luck of the draw, marginal wins, narrow losses and a heap of draws. our current palace team managed differently is capable of far better than we have managed. and dont get me wrong, RH is a good guy, means well but in this league you cant go into matches heaping praise to the teams you are playing especially if they are at or below your level
We are the lowest scorers in the PL. We have conceded first in 15 of our 25 league games. We have not scored a goal in open play in the first half of any of our 15 home league and cup matches - that's over 11 hours of football without a goal. Roy has one tactic and that is to sit back, not pressure teams and hope we get lucky on the break. He is too slow making subs - at least 15 mins after they scored before he did anything yesterday - and when he does make a chnage he never changes the formation. Why not leave CB on and put Ayew with him and take off one of our defensive central midfielders? Why play 3 of them in every game anyway? Why on earth have we shipped out Whickham on loan when he scored against Norwich and forced the OG at Man City, yet we keep Benteke who hasn't scored in 10 months? Yesterday we fielded our oldest ever PL side with an average age of over 30. It's got to the stage where I don't even look forward to going to games anymore. Hodgson is 'anti-football' and is slowly killing this club. I appreciate he asked for 2 new full-backs and didn't get them - Parish has a lot to answer for in always trying to get players in on the cheap. Also we tried for Bowen and were outbid - but would he have wanted to come to a club where attacking midfielders are ignored or played out of position? The club is an omnishambles.

What many don’t seem to have grasped is that it will never be possible to convince Braunstoneagle that Hodgson is anything other than a great manager, and it is futile to have any contrary view even entertained let alone accepted.

Current form suggests we are looking down, not up, which is a concern. Where do you see the next win coming from? Edited by southnorwoodhill (02 Feb 2020 8.11pm)
