This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy Hodgson Resigning? ' by bexleydave Did not expect more than a boring 0-0 with our defensive midfield trio, Benteke on top and "Player of the Month" Riedewald left on the bench. One of very few Palace players capable of "creative" passing, still with our right back problem not solved.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy Hodgson Resigning? ' by bexleydave This is funny people really think this is true come on Roy is local guy he loves Palace and if he was not happy he would just not sign the new deal he has been offered and leave when his current one ends which is end of this season. The other thing is Roy is not blameless yes you could say he has not been backed but he also is not doing the team any favors by sticking with his favorites plus same tactics all the time. The last game again just sums up what is wrong could see they was having an off game but no same old defensive football back to same old line up as well. quit playing this silly trying to keep the ball all the time football and going backwards this does nothing pass and move it's not hard yet Palace can't do this simple things. Not sure Roy understands what a striker is either he keeps getting the likes of Benteke playing his way so they end up playing on the wing even in our own half no wonder they don't score goals plus something every basic every other team does is puts crosses in we just don't do this. Riedewald not being used was criminal

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy Hodgson Resigning? ' by bexleydave Jesus wept, what a stupid post Rumours are called rumours because they are rumours. Everyone entitled to an opinion etc but this is just rubbish Originally posted by Palace Passion
Seen a few rumours online mainly on Palace facebook groups that Roy is quitting in the morning. Can anyone confirm this is true? If so I'm not surprised another manager is unhappy and leaving us. No backing at all from Parish and co. The club has no ambition to move the club up to the next stage. Roy's a quality manager and has done incredible considering he hasn't been given much to spend. If he does quit then the board should be ashamed of themselves. We are lucky to have Roy.

My complaint is we never play well, even in games we win. The best game we played this year was the draw versus Man C. Most of the games we've won, we were outplayed, and won by some fluke or luck. We have been gifted 30 points, and incredibly, we're still facing yet another relegation battle. Playing Sheffield at home today, a championship side, we looked slightly better than them, but at no point did we seriously threaten to score. Did their keeper have to make one difficult save? No. One look at the lineup, and we all knew that 0-0 was the best we could hope for. Last week we were dominated and embarrassed at home for 90 minutes against a total crap Southampton side. It was ugly, worst loss of the year. And oh by the way, we were dominated at home by Derby with most of our first team playing. I'd rather we play well and win, or play poorly and lose. Instead of play like absolute sh-t every week, and sometimes get an undeserved 1 or 3 points. With our endlessly negative tactics, players will eventually stop playing for Roy, and the last two matches look like is happening already. Riedewald is player of the month, then sits on the bench for a 1-0 loss. WTF! F-ing Benteke plays 80 minutes. He should never wear our shirt again. Captain Luka is back in midfield to gesture at the ref, and give the ball away every time he attempts to pass. Those are his two skills. The ridiculous part is I expect the exact same lineup next week, and the week after. When something doesn't work, Roy sticks with it forever. How this team can look so woeful every match, especially at home, is on Roy. He has lost the plot. Even the crowd was completely dead today. The fans show up to watch 90 minutes of back passing, never any goals, and usually a loss.

Roy won't quit, he likes a pound note too much. Is that a fact or are you just spouting crap for the sake of it? Originally posted by CharlesPaterson
Agree he hasn't been backed in the transfer market but there's probably a good reason for this. Roy doesn't buy players here. He tells the board what he needs and it's their job to source and buy the players that he needs. Are you suggesting that the board think that we don't really need full backs? The Yanks are holding out in the hope that even with our negative approach to every game, we'll eek out another 8-10 points and survival for another year (when they can disappear) Which one of them told you this?

Novody is forcing him to play 3 central midfielders (2 very defensive) in a home game at 0-1 So Mattteo with your wealth of knowledge please explain how he has been backed in the last 2 transfer windows? You regularly post which players we should buy and you don’t understand why we haven’t bought them. Well exactly we have bought f*** all when the manager has specifically asked for 4-5. He has not been backed.

I have spoken to a life long Palace fan who is a family friend of the Speronis (she works for a charity, is disabled herself and I have confidence she is not a bulls***ter), Roy has promised Jules a year extension, he was called to see Freedman anticipating the details, only to be told he was no longer wanted. The club just let him leave and he has had no contact since.

I've suspected for a while that the combination of Freedman and Parish has become toxic to the club. Parish was doing a great job as leader of the gang of four, but once he invited the US investors on board and side-lined his former equals with a cash pay-out the whole thing seems to have become an ego-massager for him. I suspect that the Americans have become disillusioned because part-owning a PL club hasn't produced the instant return on investment they were expecting. The problem is that the club is going to be awfully difficult to sell if Parish continues to insist remaining at the helm; most buyers would want to install their own set up. This leaves us becalmed and going nowhere (other than maybe down) with nothing tangible, so far, to show for our longest sojourn in the top flight.
