I'm hoping that Roy sticks with the attacking format home and away for the relegation battles. Total defending does not work, as Leicester found out on Sat. When I saw them play for 10 minutes score and sit back my first thought was that is exactly what we have been doing with the result that you concede goals. The only games I think we should play counter attack is Fulham and spurs. And that's only if we are not mathematically safe by then. Ayew would be the one to replace Wilf. We have to stick with players in the correct positions. Eze down the middle works. We have five relegation dog fights on the trot now. Three away, two at home. We should be taking the game to those teams. Anyone that watched west ham yesterday would have been amazed at the difference in support between us and them. We go one nil down, no booing, noise level goes up. They are silent for 18 mins other than the odd whinge. Then they start booing, AFTER 18 Minutes!!!!! Its lucky they scored when they did or the crowd would have been booing all game. They were pretty much silent throughout. Our support makes a big difference, especially when kicking towards the Holmesdale second half.

I know we scored 2 goals without Wilf on Saturday, which for any other side is like scoring 10 goals. But moving forward, I don't see us scoring many/any goals until/unless Zaha returns. Losing Wilf at this point of the season is incredibly horrible luck. With him, I think we'd be safe. Without him, it's hard to imagine scenarios where we outscore other teams to pick up 3 points. We need another six to seven points, Roy has decent defending players to work with and as a manager he begins with them as a priority so we'll be much harder to break down, If we fail to not achieve the points we need then we probably deserve to go down.

On the contrary, we are a better side without him. More balanced, responsibility spread across the front line. Ironic that the last few games under PV when Zaha returned we lost, previously when he was out through injury we scraped a string of draws. As you mention, against Leicester we scored 2 after he had gone off, again with injury. A sign of what's to come. Edited by southnorwoodhill (03 Apr 2023 6.41am) Completely disagree We looked excellent in the first half. Every time he got the ball he was positive driving at the full back and getting a cross or shot away. 2nd half was a much more even game. Re Wilf looking poor in PV's last couple of games, our most attacking players will always look poor when we play negative football. Eze also falls into this camp. Sat was one of his best games of the season. We were on the front foot, he is receiving the ball high up the pitch and getting a lot of it.

I have no doubt that he will have realised, that the better players we've bought since his departure, are better with the ball than without it. We don't really have the sit back and soak it up players. And yes, 100% on Eze. Has to play centrally.

Bloody spurs!!!!! I actually had this listed as a point for everton though! I have saints adrift at the death and 5 sides within 2 points of each other!!! Its going to go to the last two weekends with 5 relegation dog fights! Everton and west ham have two out of two relegation dog fights each in their last two games. Its going to be carnage!!! Currently I have saints, forest and leeds down. But I expect that to change weekly.

Disappointing for us but at least we gained 2 more points than Everton this week. I have to say that it looks like Dyche has made sure that Everton will be absolutely up for the fight. I expect them to come through and survive on this type of performance unless of course they finally get their penalty points deduction for breaking Fair Play rules.COYP

Away to wolves, home to bournemouth. It could be another need to win situation in the last game again.
