Yes, most sensible posters would agree brexit is either the main problem or part of the problem. If it is just part of the problem, then so far, it has been a failure! In years to come, it might turn in to a positive, or maybe an even bigger failure! As for other countries needing lorry drivers, that is just in a perfect scenario, they don"t have food shortages or fuel stations empty like us. We really are the ass end of europe, and its all our own doing! As a Spanish bloke said to me in Croydon, "its laughable, they voted for this though-now they have fcuked themselves!" "Fcuked themselves indeed," I replied. Most posters have if you read it back. What is clear is its not ALL the fault of brexit.

While offering visas to drivers on the continent would be a welcome step, there are many other issues, such as working conditions, pay, and the costs of getting into and working in the UK.” "Mr Digioia added that “it is not surprising” that the UK is suffering driver shortages. There are two reasons,” he said. “Number one is Brexit, and number two is Covid. Edited by Orange1290 (27 Sep 2021 12.34pm) Of course he would blame Brexit. I have also heard him say, “in my opinion, they will not want to go for 3 months “ Why not? Farm workers come for short periods and go back!

It is laughable, and gone is the British reputation as being pragmatic and sensible, more like lacking in judgement and unable to do detail or think things through.

I agree - my point was that most people are unwilling to concede even that. I agree Brexit is part of the reason but I do dispute Orange’s statement that we have forced 25000 to leave. As I said before no one knows the number who have left. If they were living here and registered they could stay.

Yes, when our great leader, said he would break international law, on an agreement he signed a few months earlier, in an "oven ready deal", the world laughed!Spot on about the detail, there isn"t any!
