Roy is 73If I'm a young player looking forward to a career in the Premiership from abroad or the Efl how do I know that Roy will still be around in 3 years time ? Why would I sign for a manager who has no longevity?

Also why sign Matteta on loan and not play him ? Why keep Batschuyi if you're not going to play him now Wickham is fit!

It feels like Parish and Dougie are operating independently of Roy and Ray in terms of signings ,that suggests that they have a new manager lined up who is telling them who he wants

Roy refusal to play players that Parish and Freedman have signed hasn't helped his cause and it is clear he can only play one system .We've conceded so many goals this season because he has tried to change it but he can't get the balance right

He's been great ,now he should move on

Hodgson was a top manager of England.

Played 53

Won 25

Drew 13

Lost only 5.

The only place we would be going without him is the championship and it would be a battle to stay in that.

A very good post.

Whether we would have gone to the Championship without him is of course a matter for conjecture but the fact remains that he has kept us in the PL season-on-season on a relative 'Shoestring' and he deserves praise for his efforts at our club.

I doff my hat.

A prime example of how in football, maybe sport in general, the minority of failure can be used to wipe out a life time of relative success, and achievement.
As far as Hodgsons England record is concerned, anyone would think he was the only one that didn’t quiet get it right at that level.
I think there is a very good chance we would be back in the Championship now , with the lack of investment , if it wasn’t for Hodgsons know how.

You have no way of knowing if Meyer gave an opinion on their cricketing ability or not.

The post implied that because two cricketers apparently thought Meyer was good then that was relevant somehow to his time at Palace.

Presumably you are a professional footballer otherwise under your own logic you shouldn't be posting.

How's the view from the Roy Out bandwagon anyway?

Firstly Max Mayer didn't give an opinion as to their cricketing ability and secondly if you are suggesting that Billings and Denly's opinions of football and footballers aren't valid as they aren't professional footballers why are you spending time on this forum giving your opinion as you aren't a professional footballer either

As far as I can see ( and happy to be corrected ), Meyer has not started a Bundeslig game yet at Koln and is on the bench.

FC Koln are 14th in the league and probably we are a better team and despite his talent as highlighted by Midlands Eagle he can't get a start in Germany.

Glowing opinions of Meyer are either based on a few Palace appearances or his youtube appearances.

Meyer, was another example of , wishful thinking, on the part of fans. And at one time the club. He turned out to be the nearly man.
He is talented, but flawed for the demands of the top flight game.

Oh dear that looks like desperation to me as if you actually bothered to read what you are commenting on you will see that I have never given an opinion on Roy in/out either way

With the possible exception of Pep Guardiola no manager in the Premier League has any guaranteed longevity there using your logic no "young player looking forward to a career in the Premiership from abroad or the Efl" would sign for a Premier League club apart from Manchester City
