When he first came to Palace I was excited and ignored my Sunderland supporting mate who claimed he was injury prone. My friend was right the guy is stealing a living from us. Get him out the door we are not a charity.

if, as I suspect, we retain Benteke, and have both Mateta and Ayew them we can safely dispense with Wickham, and we won't need to replace him with another forward. His wages can be put to better use next season.

Agreed on all fronts, and though we would have a lack of pace in those three I presume that either Zaha will continue to play up top or we'll go back to one centre forward anyway.

I suppose it does free up some room in the injury room.

With his injury record he will probably only get a short-term deal even in the Championship. He must be a good guy for the club to have kept faith in him, so I hope he can recover and finally start playing football again, but surely not with us. It is sad as he has some class, as shown in the recent U23 game, but sometimes in sport this is what happens and injuries take their toll.

If so, pleased that it isn't until the end of the season as I don't think we will see a lot of him under Roy's reign. Only when we are mathematically safe will he get a possible decent chance and even then depending on circumstances. If we have a slide like last season then Roy will revert to type.
