Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BBC Sport: "We could not move up a place in the table but I am really pleased with them to go out and get a hard earned point.

"Our squad is small, it is ageing, we have been playing some of the top teams in the country and it has been hard. I see this period as a necessary evil that we have had to go through.

"Even if the intention and desire from the board is to spend some money and rejuvenate the team, whether it’s a possibility in the market is another matter. Unless we get help soon the job gets harder and harder. We need some players who can do what Harry Kane did for Tottenham today."

We could have moved above Newcastle with a win

After these comments about Wilf, possibly. He hasn’t played well but to say he doesn’t like the club is outrageous

Do you really think he means that literally that Wilf doesn’t like Palace?

No. I suspect he means that Wilf doesn't like us enough to want to stay. Also, we don't know how the failure to move last summer has left Wilf with regard to his attitude towards the club hierarchy.

I'm not surprised he doesn't like the club anymore... If I was a professional footballer that plays in a side that plays 'football' the way we play it under this manager I would want to be gone as well...

The lad has been an unbelievable servant for us. It's been clear all season he doesn't want to be here. I just hope we can still get a decent fee for him as he's been very poor.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Zaha's on half a million a month, what's not to like?

The way the team has played recently, the whole squad and management isn't worth that sort of money between them for the whole season.

Maybe the system that the manager plays doesnt suite wilfs abilities or his best attributes; and he may not be the only one. In fact he isnt the only one.
A Fulham friend said Roy will make your bad players ok and your good players ok. Sort of where we are really or sadly.

I've floated the theory before that Zaha's dissatisfaction and desire to move couid have had a negative effect on the rest of the squad but I was poo-pooed by many. Hodgson's comments seem to make that possibility a little more likely.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

He steadied Fulham away from relegation the season before and then they finished 7th, Fulham are in the same boat as us in football ability terms and we are both clubs that cannot really afford to be flamboyant on the pitch in regards to gaining enough points for safety in this league, sadly today it sounds like the team played solidly in defence for once something they haven't been able to do since losing unluckily to Burnley, some lovely crossing today just wish we had a young Glen Murray type to bang them in, we would've beaten Spurs and many more this season with a fully aware striker ..cannot blame our manager for the sake of someone not able to be there to bang them in can we? Our cause of awful boring games has been purely down to failing to score when it would have been easier to do so, confidence is then slowly removed.

In his last 2 seasons at Fulham they scored 39 goals in each season so like us they were hardly awash with goals.

He did however take them up to 7th in the PL and to the Europa League final when they lost 2-1 to Atletico Madrid after extra time.
