I think we missed a trick with Camarasa, he is the player we have been missing, a midfielder who can pass and shoot

Where did Camarasa go and what has he achieved if he was so good. Maybe Roy and Ray know better than most posters on here.

After he left us he signed on loan for Alaves who are 16th in La Liga.
He has made 17 appearances for them this season.

As maybe but why sit him on the bench at all?

Spain. What I am trying to say is not, he is a Messi but he is the type of player we are desperately crying out for. If you remember he had a very good season in the PL with a poor Cardiff side, scoring some long range goals.
I don’t know what went wrong at Palace but would have liked to see him given a chance, is that such an outrageous ask?

The Palace fan and journalist Dom Fifield writes a piece on Hodgson in The Athletic this morning. He’s usually well informed on Palace related matters.
He rates Hodgson, lists mitigating circumstances and thinks it would be harsh to dispense with him.
However, he does point out that we have only finished once in the Premier League in 7 years with a points total lower than the current 42 points.
He also is of the view that there is always scope for change , in particular if there is a ready made replacement available.
I think this is a key point.
If a manager that Palace like the look of became available at the end of the season would Palace be tempted to move for him to avoid the risk of missing out on the appointment of a potential long term successor to Hodgson.
Does the club take a short term or longer term view in these circumstances?

That was in season 2016-17 when we finished on 41 pts.

Our points tally in the PL since our last promotion :

2018-19 49 pts
2017-18 44 pts
2016-17 41 pts
2015-16 42 pts
2014-15 48 pts
2013-14 45 pts.

This screams SP monitoring the Dyche situation at Burnley to me. But without finding investment or a sustainable way to raise funds it will be a struggle to entice any proven manager to us.

Why would Dyche think that Palace would be a step up in his career?

The "Proven manager" is Roy Hodgson, who has been offered and agreed to a new contract and will be in situ next season.
He has proved he can keep our team in the PL on a very limited spend, so 'Happy days' for the Board.

NO reason BUT he might just fancy a new challenge and Palace would certainly be that with an ageing squad and no apparent money.

I’ve no idea if Dyche would be considered.
However, he mentioned his recent interview that his family has remained based in the south while he’s in Burnley and that he has spent much of the lockdown with them in the south.
He’s also unhappy with the Burnley wage policy inasmuch that guys like Hendrick are not being re-signed at the end of their contracts.
Palace are likely to be able to attract better players through paying higher wages.
It’s also doubtful he would get a top 6 club.
You then start to think he may have limited opportunities and Palace could be an option.

I dont know if camarasa wanted special treatment. I said I thought he didnt agree with Roy's training regime. I mean it must be rigid as a dead fish.
All the players I mentioned wernt to show a point about conforming as their teams played differently.
Why did cabaye leave? Camarasa might not have wanted to defend on the halfway line.

Well your comment was around '' mavericks just needing the ball '' inferred that they should be treated differently.

Why did Cabaye leave ? - Needed a huge cash injection to fund his divorce I think you will find.

Training under Roy is boring and rigid, I think that's generally accepted. But it gets results which for the players is reflected in their wage packets.
