No,they can play at left back, but only one of them it's their chosen position.[/

If you are going to throw in your tuppence answer your own question of what are the chosen positions of Schlupp and Riedewald?

He was clearly offside people can keep moaning all they want the issue is as I saw a poster on twitter mention the var people are dumb they do not even know how do do lines correctly they keep doing them at angles when they should be done based on the pitch lines.

He has taken that photo of his telly on a phone. Iv seen the lines on BT and believe me they are parallel with the 6 yard box.

The outcome the same - another defeat, but at least we made a fist of it tonight and the players can hold their heads up.

Agreed, they were the classier team but we gave them a game.

Why couldn't we do the same v. Burnley, Leicester, Villa ?

Townsend could play left back as well. Doesn’t make him a left back

Don’t understand how that photo supports your point. Your new lines all wonky. How you can say that obvious, I don’t understand

If the point of VAR was to eliminate confusion then it's been a dismal failure. The discussion has moved from the on field ref's decision to some faceless person off field, timing of a picture and pixel widths. This has not been an improvement in the game but it does waste a lot of time so there's that.

Success will lie to you but failure always tells you the truth.

This! And how much frames per second on the camera, we are not shown the moment the ball leaves the foot and the use of 3D lines is maddening as it depends on the camera angle what is perpendicular and parallel. Only used in the PL this "accuracy".
The standard of refereeing is atrocious, both on and off the pitch.

you are right but it cant be certain if the refs are choosing when to stop it. This makes it non factual.

Thought Roy was very clever to play McArthur on the left against Wan Bissaka.

VAR was never going to work and the sport can't be calibrated to the level they are trying to achieve irrespective of frame rates.

The only thing in its favour is that its underlined how most premier league referees have been promoted beyond their level of competence.

That's always been the problem with VAR, that it's supposed to be objective, but there are still human elements of it that are as subjective as they ever were.

He wasn’t clearly offside,it took them over 2 minutes to decide it was!

It’s a good job for Kanu that he didn’t have to deal with this. His feet were so big he’d have been offside if he was standing behind the defender.
