In an ideal world yes, but I think Wilf now has his mind set on going whatever. He dreams of winning something which he is unlikely to do with Palace even if we were to buy in some better players in the break. Me too, but I’ve set my sights lower. A game will do for me.

The time is indeed to move on from Wilf and not be so reliant on a one man team.. Very true, very true.

Zaha appointed a new agent Pini Zahavi some months ago supposedly because his former agent wasn’t able to deliver a move. I have heardthat Man United are watching Zaha closely and Ole agrees Wilf was treated badly last time he was at Old Trafford.

How many players have left “to win things” and ended up with naff all ? Wilf has already had this experience once already. Realistically there are only 3 or 4 teams in the premier league with realistic aspirations and with respect to Wilf I can’t see him improving their teams. His only option in my opinion would be to move abroad.

Leicester and Wolves should have Wilf as their top target. He’d guarantee both Champions League football. Imagine him and Traore causing carnage. If a club bids £40m we should let him go. It’s the least we can do. I love him but he’s too good for us and it’s cruel keeping him.

Had we built around him the last two years we might have been pushing Leicester and Wolves right now. Our lack of support from the spendthrift billionaire Americans and our vaguely wealthy Chairman and the apparent lack of overall ambition at present has put us in a position where he probably feels he has no alternative but to leave.

My hairdressers cousin knows someone that used to occasionally bump into a well known football agent in the local Waitrose. They were told last week that Leicester are interested at around the £30m mark. I wouldn't take this as gospel though

I know he's had a poor season, but can you really see Parish letting Wilf go for 30m having been supposedly holding out for 80m only a year ago? 40/50m plus add-ons would possibly be accepted. Personally, albeit probably unrealistically, I would favour he went to Chelsea and we get Hudson-Odoi and Batshuayi, with neither player seemingly seen as first-team starters by Chelsea but both would be very good for us. When Vardy wasn't scoring Leicester weren't winning, which must be a big worry for them given his age. They have probably far exceeded their expectations this season and if someone poaches Maddison they might start to look quite ordinary; would Wilf risk ending up at a club which is not really any bigger than Palace, but which has admittedly done well in recent years? Possibly if they get CL I suppose. I still think he's pushing for Arsenal and it'll come down to whether they can raise the funds to buy him. Anything else I think would feel like a consolation prize in his eyes. Given their lack of creativity in midfield he could do well there as well.

The 'Rumour Mill' is very active leading up to and during a 'Transfer window'. I don't recall seeing Zaha back to Man Utd (There was a 25% Sell-on clause) to team up with AWB.
