Don't we play all the same teams again in the second half of the season? We do. But can you show me where we play Man City, Arsenal, Leicester, Chelsea and Liverpool sequentially again in the second half of the season, because I can't find that?

Not true. All you need is a rapid striker and a good long ball. Yes, quick attack which is what I wrote.

Good performance, but no reward. The next sequence of games will be more telling. Liverpool will win the title based on a lot of decisions going their way. I know you make your own luck, but my god...

I thought we played great today. I can't think of one player who had a bad game, everyone was really good. Even Benteke was good. We actually deserved a draw, I thought. The problem is we look great when losing to top teams, then we look not very good when playing anyone else. If we play like today against Burnley, we should win easily. But I doubt that's what's going to happen.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Why are we such a melee team?' by Midlands Eagle All losses are pointless Defo one of our best performances of the season and if we can keep it up nest half dozen games we will be in good shape for our traditional end of season good run Originally posted by AppleSource
Nothing typifies Palace like a good old melee in the penalty area. Either the ball bobbles off a few knees and toes or we half-heartedly clear the ball in the penalty area to the opposition attacker and concede. Why are we so scrappy? Why doesn’t anyone ever seem to put their laces through the ball? We more than matched Liverpool today, but given the opportunity to clear our lines we much preferred to play silly buggers and offer them a reprieve. One of the most pointless losses I’ve seen in a long time!
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Roy said we played our best football of the season, and I agree. There was a fluidity in player and ball movement that seemed to be on a higher level, and on defense we yielded very few good chances against a strong attacking team -- granted, that Salah sat on the bench. Now if only we can play with the same concentration and confidence for the next five games...

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Why are we such a melee team?' by Midlands Eagle I think in our efforts to preserve the point we just over did getting men behind the ball probably due to Tomkins injury and ended up with just too many bodies in the way for anyone to actually take charge of the situation . That it eventually ended in the back of our net was against the odds but there we go . We didn't loose because of that but because we didn't take our chances down the other end .

Played well and Townsend said - we were more aggressive, we pressed and it worked.

One of the most pointless losses I’ve seen in a long time! PVA had a chance to put the ball out for a corner, but played it back into a cluster of players. We certainly deserved a point at least yesterday, but luck and VAR was against us...

You also said no other team turns defence into attack like liverpool. Why are they eight points clear at the top then? ..when they attack they just happen to be the quickest at it at the moment, I mentioned nothing about anyone inventing anything.
