I think it's just normal process

The Press selling space is all.

I had it happen with companies, you just make sure you don't go past the deadline.

On Tuesday the Registrar of Companies issued a notice to the company which owns and runs Crystal Palace, CPFC 2010 Ltd, that it will be “struck off the register and the company will be dissolved” in two months “unless cause is shown to the contrary”.

Just read the above in the Guardian.

What worries me is the lack of comment from the club.
If this is due to some technicality or re-organisation why not say so? They don't need to go into detail at this stage just give the fans an idea of what is going on.

The longer the silence the more worried I get that there maybe a real issue here.

Chill. If there is one thing all of our owners are good at it's managing finances.

The answer is quite straight forward if you think about it.

The end of last season didn't finish with any high level drama, no must win final game or cup run to give the fans something to leave them emotionally drained for the summer. So I reckon Parish has read some of the drivel that gets spouted on here and decided to give us all something proper to moan and worry about for a couple of weeks.

It's the only explanation that makes any sense, create a scenario that gives the moaners something to moan about and those with rose tinted glasses something to reassure everyone about.

Well their lack of action contradicts this assertion

Exactly. And in the transfer window as well. People are going to think twice about signing a contract with a club that might be about to go bust

Stop the bed wetting "The penalties for failing to file accounts are not severe unless the delay becomes extensive. A fine of £150 is levied for a month’s delay, then £375 for between one and three months" This will hardly hurt the club. Companies House can give notice to strike off a company but interested parties can object in which case the winding up is stopped usually for 3-6 months and the process starts again.

The financial penalties for failing to file accounts on time is the least of the club's worries.

The poor PR is far more damaging as this has been picked up by the national media and there must be many interested parties thinking "here we go again"

The credit reference agencies will have picked up on what is normally a red flag and will be issuing warnings on their credit reports so that suppliers and other clubs will be loathe to extend credit

Companies House have tightened up the timetable. If there is no appeal (and no accounts submitted), striking off is after two months. If there is an appeal, it is two months from the date of the appeal, so the absolute maximum period is four months if any appeal is delayed until the end of the initial two months. I'm rather hoping we'll be submitting them this week though.

my guess is that the club is probably being run at a loss over the last 2 seasons and even tho its not critical because of the yanks investment & gauranteed PL income, im sure last season we borrowed against this seasons PL money so im not sure the accounts will make great reading, and i assume we will have to do the same again.

i suppose its sustainable & only sustainble because of the PL cash cow were currently riding...the problem is, as the cow grows the cow become more hungry & costs a lot of feed.

we only have a small farm to provide food to feed, but its ok as one of them is worth £100m & if all else fails we sell him to solve the problem.
