Here's what I emailed to Penge who was good enough to contact me: Hi Gordon, I'm good thanks. Got a new job that keeps me busy but it's good. There seemed to have been an incredible amount of thread deleting going on. When someone used to flounce it could turn gold - IMO it's sometimes better to leave a thread to see which way it's going to go. By deleting threads that were asking an honest question - such as what happened to Jamie it creates a sense of ill-will. People like to be kept informed and if you don't they get suspicious - it's human nature. At one stage the threads were being deleted 5 minutes after they started - which just compounds the problem. Far better to come out and say what happened or let Jamie have his final goodbye. As someone else said it's like when referees explain their decision - you may not like it but at least you don't feel paranoid or suspicious. There now exists a mood on the HOL that it's Midlands Eagle who is going round deleting threads and has gone power crazy. That may or may not be the case but when good people like Moose feel the HOL is a shambles then something has gone wrong. The HOL will survive, of course - it's a great site - but a little interaction and explanation will go a long way. And give the flouncers their stage - who knows it may turn out to be a funny thread. I agree it was about time Gusset went and I'd have carded Willo years ago - but these are my opinions and you must do what you think is best. Sorry to bang on - but I don't want to see the great HOL deserted. Keep Well, Pikey.
You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name. |

Pikey, good to hear from you. It was mostly me who deleted the threads, so want to make that clear as Midlands is getting a lot of unnecessary flak. We never debate the merits of yellow and red cards on the open forum. I know many people want to make Gusset a martyr, but tough! Midlands is kind enough to do this thankless task of moderating and I believe has the right intentions of managing the forums and trying to make them a better place because they had been quite toxic of late. As former moderator himself, Moose knows what it was like to do that job. Does anyone think they can do better? Then let me know. Edited by Penge Eagle (10 Jan 2018 8.28pm)

A mod is damned if they do and damned if they don't. One poster was red carded and the rest decided to leave themselves. I've read the criticisms and what does stick with me is that If that anyone of those critics were a mod themselves and ran the site to their mindsets.....they would be criticised just as much.

Yes! He could so eloquently destroy pretty much anyone. So many decent and funny posters have fallen by the wayside. When morgs, Pikes, Superfly, kav, and Dildo Baggins were all posting regularly I regularly had to stifle giggles at my desk. Even matt_himself used to be funny too. halycon days dan indeed. i dont envy the jobs the mods have to do, this site is now full to the brim of members, i remeber the site being proud when “sherlock holmesdale” bacame the 10’000 member (what a usename btw) ive been guilty of being a prick over the years, and have actually got in more trouble calling them out, rather than being one myself...haha imagine if “reborn” was still on the site? well, he probably wouldnt be here for long nowadays. still i would like to thank penge etc for all their hard work over the years, without them we wouldnt have this hallowed place to bitch & moan

I see that Legaleagle is on the BBS telling outright lies about me. He has waited till he is no longer on ths site to claim that I posted something 'racist'.

Why don’t you go onto the BBS and have it out with him then? No good whingeing about it here. Or when you popped up here had you jumped ship from the BBS?

May I be the first to ask, what the f*ck have I missed?! I never seem to be on here to see the fun stuff or be the first to post a 'Dead' thread. I do however hope to start the annual T*t Monday thread this year.
