For once...shock horror I agree with Willo. I always thought it was nice for a woman to offer to pay, although I always fully intended to pay the full bill. I got dragged to a posh restaurant once by a girl who was way out of my league (i.e.: both her eyes were working) and she rinsed me for a big meal and didn't offer to pay a penny. Then faked her own death to avoid a second date. Anyway, now I know I was taken for a bit of a ride, but the warning sign was there when she didn't even give me the option to decline an offer to chip in.

Paying is a hard habit to break. I still feel slightly emasculated when my wife pays for stuff, and she's either using a card on my credit card account, or her own debit card on our joint account

Oh Willo, how times have changed. Indeed I have seen young ladies buy their partner a drink at a bar which is very alien to me. In my day it was just the 'Done thing' that the male bought the drinks. If you took a girl to a cocktail bar this could work out quite expensive but then you went there knowing it would hit you in the pocket. All very different these days generally - I have seen couples out and they are on their phones not even talking to one another ! Probably texting each other !!!! Edited by Willo (15 Mar 2017 2.23pm)

Absolutely not just you - I'm afraid the fledgling relationship would not make it out of the nest for me if I caught someone doing that. Just a total lack of respect, and the "you shouldn't have left it lying around" argument doesn't wash - if I left my wallet lying around, would you have carte blanch to help yourself? No, I'd be worried I'd wake up with my trousers missing!
