There are nearly 3 million British immigrants living in other EU countries. Most of which don't go to the country expecting free housing and money do they? They are all contributing in some way or other to the country they choose to live in. I chose to live in France and we pay our way, no benefits given or expected.

Most EU nationals are younger generation and skilled. They don't need free housing as they have employment, earning money and paying tax. There are far more British citizens living off benefits including social housing. Many of the British living in other EU countries, particularly in Spain and France are older generation and use the (excellent) health services of these countries heavily and freely. Maybe they should be returned to the UK and loaded onto the already dire and collapsing NHS? You seem to be typical of the attitude in the UK that anyone who comes and lives in the UK does so only to claim benefits and get free housing while the British moving in the opposite direction are helping all of the other economies. Well, from my experience of actually living for years in several other EU countries as well as spending a good piece of my life in the UK, the opposite is true. The work ethic in most EU countries is light years ahead of anything I experienced in the UK when I used to live there. It's one of the main reasons we moved our business abroad. Why is it the people coming to the UK are called immigrants while the British abroad are called 'expats'? Why are the British never known as immigrants ? They are of course immigrants and should accept being so. Edited by europalace (11 Feb 2017 11.27am)

We ARE helping the French economy, albeit in a very small way as we run a company here and pay tax here..Maybe we do use the health system here BUT we pay up front for it! Maybe we should come back and use the NHS, god knows we paid into for 50 years! Anyway enough of this, you have your views I have mine.

Where do you get your ideas from as unemployment is significantly higher in many European countries than it is in the UK with shockingly high unemployment levels of 23% in Greece and 20% in Spain for starters

There is a thread for Jeremy Corbyn its only fair to other posters that you do not use this thread as a diversion from the subject of 'British values'.

If a moderator wants to stop me or Matt cross referencing valid points from another thread then so be it. Who appointed you as the sole arbiter of what does and doesn't qualify to post on this thread then? Nothing seems to stop you having a pop at Theresa May on any thread if the mood takes you......Hypocrite20
