Not really,it was almost the most naff part...that particular prize is reserved for the infantile Fidel dig (may his esteemed and immortal soul rest in peace

Some welcome the new Trumpist Faragist "far right is the new centre" age...others despise and deplore it...simples.

I certainly don't welcome any move toward racism or Fascism but the Trump, Brexit world is a reaction to the zealous liberalisation (for want of a better term) that has been going on since the end of WW2. It is also bred from the fear of what the future might hold.

I would respectfully say that the new Trumpist/Farage era gives a whole new meaning to the term "fear of what the future might hold"...

And I believe you. So why do you feel uncomfortable about the supposed disproportionate representation of British newsreaders who don't have the same skin colour as you?

Not uncomfortable. Just observing the obvious positive discrimination and disproportion. In other words "the agenda".

Childish? From the person who says I was only joking when questioned about iffy views.

Yet more guff.

I am confident that if we had a poll on here of the members, most of them would agree that your posts are a waste of every bodies time.

You repeat the same message over and over again.

Give it a rest.

No, I value your opinion. We are all entitled to one.

I think these things work both ways BPF. I'm sure many a black or Asian person has felt like they didn't see enough people like them in the media in the past. Maybe too many negative images. Equally, sometimes the rest of us might wake up, put on the TV and wonder why we see so many more black and Asian faces on TV than in our high street. I see nothing surprising or sinister about that.

I think those on one side who wake up in cold sweats at the fact that parliament isn't 50% female, 10% black, 1.5% used car salesman should join forces with those choking on their tea when they deem there to be one too many black faces on the nightly news, because they are essentially the same kind of person. People, more often than not come to directly reflect what they most dislike on others.

The rest of us who just want the government to do their job, or who aren't matching races on tv against dulex colour charts will just get on with things as per usual .

Too many darkies reading the news is part of the agenda?

That's raised a smile.

Well there is a rather uncomfortable sense of uncertainty. Of that there is no doubt. But those in politics deserve it all for their arrogance.

The black population of South London 1985-92 - the Wright era - would have been around 10%. Croydon's was much less than that.

Palace's first XI is 1992 was 40% black.

Ethnicity was only included on the census from 1991 and is believed to be under accurate for that year. In 2011 about half of the population of Croydon is non white.

Not that Croydon is exactly representative of the areas surrounding Selhurst Park either, as it's nearer other London boroughs than it is to Coulsdon or Whyteleafe etc.

Optimistic as ever

Unfortunately Hoof, it's shades of the same message. There are so many areas that the right need pulling up on.

Or perhaps are you joking. In which case it makes it necessary to take anything you say with a large pinch of salt.

I tell you what..... I promise not to read or comment upon any of your posts from now on.... they bore me sh1tless anyway.

Feel free to comment upon anything I say, but I will refrain from responding.

I am not joking by the way.... I feel it is the best way forward to avoid unnecessary typing which I find difficult with my condition.

Have a nice life.
