Juice plus! That's the one. Has worked. Or rather her determination to stick at it has. She said she was just feeling uncomfortable and wanted to do something about it.

It does work but its essentially a very expensive placebo. If I cut out the sugar I could do it, yes it's that feeling or looking a mess, feeling like rubbish, keep putting it off til tomorrow and tomorrow becomes the next day and so on. I don't really drink , don't smoke, food is my treat at the end of the day when I have put my kids to bed. I just need to go for it and set myself a target and put something non food related there as a reward when I reach it

Me too.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

If you want to lose weight , eat less and move more.
It's good to start with a juice detox but basically if your energy output is greater than your energy input you will lose way. If you do the opposite you will gain weight.
Just need to make sensible choices with food, if you have scrambled eggs , have 4 eggs but take out 3 of the yolks, tastes the same and all the fat, cholesterol and crap are in the yolk.
Get the app 'my fitness pal', set your goals and don't lie about what you eat. If you can't lose weight by following that you are a f**king moron.
Good luck.

It was the same here. Get the kids to bed,
having a drink to unwind and then eating crisps etc to go with the drink. Still need to enjoy yourself and have a treat though! Think she found it bloody tough for 2-3 weeks but once she could see the weight coming off and other people noticing it, it made her carry on. She even got hooted by a van driver the other day, which must have been the first time in years. I said not bad for a 37 year old.

These are not the problem. Sugar IS the problem.

Saw Horizon a couple of years ago and they reckoned the main problems were foods that contained fats and sugars combined like chocolate, cake, ice cream etc. People just eat too many of these.

That was an example of a healthy way of eating something mate.
That app tells you how many carbs, sugars, fats, proteins, practically everything is in a meal. Also how much of each you should be eating.
Let's have it right if someone's trying to lose weight and isn't cutting out sugar. They are a pr**t

Agreed bud.
But the problem isn't fat/cholesterol. We've been eating it in large quantities for donkeys (thousands of years) with no problems.
In the grand scheme of things, sugar is relatively new to our daily diet and it's now in pretty much everything that many buy and for years we've had an obesity problem despite many decades of 'fat is bad' etc. How's that work?
Yeah, i get the 'eat too much and work too little' stance as if i have a week or so plastering/bricklaying/pitching roofs etc i lose the bit of weight that i may have put on, say, when fitting a kitchen (easy work). But many don't have that 'change' in their working routine, as many before them since sugar became 'the norm'.

For the past umpteen years fat has been the bad guy. To replace the taste that fat gives food, sugar has been added. I grew up in the 70's where the fat kid stood out. Now, despite decades of propaganda, fat is the norm. Why the big change in such a short time?
