There's something that keeps freezing up the site and also restricting you from using the back button, which is really annoying.

On phones and PC that is.

Guntri....FFS sort the site out mate!

It is freezing/locking all the time!

I am using Internet Explorer on a wired PC with Virgin's faster Broadband speed 152mps.

On this site though it's like I'm back in the old dial up days!

Every other site I visit is working perfectly, but this site is slower than a slow thing!!

It's taken me about 10 minutes to post this!

Are you able to test the site using Chrome or Firefox, and see whether it's still slow for you?

When you say that the site is slow, is it the scrolling of the site which is slow, or just seeing anything on a page? The adverts shouldn't effect initial loading of the page, as they are loaded in iframes, separate from the main page.

I've used Chrome and IE on PC and Android's browser and Chrome on phones.

I've found that I have to resort to pressing the stop button within about a second of the page loading or the whole thinks locks up (scrolling, typing, refreshing, even closing the page FFS). It's the adverts doing it.

If I don't press stop I can't even type as it'll only actually process the odd keystroke into text.

It is like being on early 90s internet. And some bloody annoying thing keeps hijacking the back button, so it remains on the same page but just loads more and more ads.

Just happened then while trying to edit that, about 10 times. It is so f***ing annoying it's unreal.

I don't want to use another browser... IE works well for every other site I visit.

The hol site "freezes" quite regularly and you cannot even close it. The back button doesn't work and scrolling through the pages stops or is very slow.

I have no idea about adverts loading Peter... all I know is that for the last 2 weeks this site has been a nightmare to navigate

You will find that your browsing experience across all websites will be a lot quicker if you switch to Chrome or Firefox.

I really can't do much about it, the code for the adverts is not under my control and we must have the adverts on the site in order for the site to continue to exist.

I appreciate your frustration, as I have tested it on IE11/Windows myself - the only thing I can suggest at the moment is switch to a different browser. When I tested Chrome on Windows the site was perfectly useable.

Are you sure the adverts are the actual problem?

This slow navigation has only occurred in the last few weeks and was working perfectly well before that with adverts?

It's totally related to the adverts, it's the only 'changing' part of the pages - it will depend on what adverts are being displayed - adverts come and go all the time from different companies - a few badly programmed ads from someone and it screws up the site.

Okay Peter... you know best.

I have switched my browser to Google Chrome just to navigate this site and you are right - it behaves itself much better!

I would recommend anyone having problems on IE to switch to Google Chrome for Hol.

I still use IE for my banking and other stuff, but Chrome seems ideal for social networks like Youtube, Facebook etc.

Mind you I am no IT champion... LOL
