Following the first 3/4 of the season where we all just wanted to see the season end. Has there ever been a bigger turn around in the fortunes of a team so completely?

The last couple of months has been the best I have ever seen us play in my lifetime. I will always think highly of the mighty team that finished 3rd in 91 and lifted the Zenith cup (it means something to me if nobody else, was a great game).
But this team under OG is something else, something very special. We have an air of assured strength at the back and in the middle and utter quality going forward.

I remember dreading and writing off games against the big boys but right now if that was us playing City necktie week in the cup final I would honestly fancy our chances. I certainly don’t think we would fear anybody. When was that ever the case for Palace.

I am gutted the season has stopped. I wish England had an attack minded forward thinking manager who fears nobody going into the euros. If Southgate has any sense he will let the outstanding players England have right now lose like OG has done for us.

I really do think Parish will fend off the advances of bigger clubs for our jewels. I think it’s funny that already the rags are saying Wharton is a clear target and going to leave, the letters have barley stuck on his shirt and he is already been touted by the press as moving here and there. Leave it out.

If we do keep these players together and bring in a couple of additions then I think next year is going to be special. I hate to wish my life away but it’s only about 12 weeks until the start of the season.

Dowies promotion season was quite a turn around, from getting beat 5-0 at Wigan and in the relegation zone at Christmas to promotion.

Also warnock taking us from the relegation zone to the play offs

Best ever......without question in my mind, and I first watched the Palace with my Dad in the late 50s. Stunning football.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I have been prompted to think back to some of my favourite Palace games. I thought I’d start with the 5-0 against Man U in December 1972 with Don Rogers scoring 2 of them. That was a game to savour. But, although (with thanks to the ‘Complete History’) we won the next home game 3-0 there were only 4 more home wins after that and 3 losses and 4 draws at Selhurst Park and we ended up being relegated. So, although I loved our forward line of Rogers, Whittle and Possee, they didn’t sustain the high standard consistently enough.

There is no doubt that our current front three have been a joy to watch and really much better than the 1972 era. But it isn’t just the front three, what a player Adam Wharton is! And the high pressing and forcing of errors is a real team effort.

I am almost lost for words at the transformation.
