Saw him and the band supporting the Clash in 1978, when they were morphing from the Coventry Automatics to Specials/Special AKA. That line from Ghost Town 'too much fighting on the dance floor' encapsulated what a lot of gigs were like then. RIP

Woken up to this very sad news. One of the most under rated songsmiths of our times not just with The Specials but with Fun Boy Three l, Colourfield and others. I am no fan of Simon Jordan but he helped bring The Specials back onto our lives so wasn't all bad. Your wondering now what to do now you know that this is the end...
