...the worst team of all the squads that survived last year's season.

There is Worse relegation odds for the newly promoted teams. But we are given a damning bill of health by the money men.

And i hate to say it, but the money men usually know what they are talking about.

The same money men who made Leicester favourites to be relegated and 5000/1 to win the league or on a smaller scale recently Italy 10/1 to win the euros

Money men often rubbish - they follow where the money is laid no?

Had a quick shufti and Villa were apparently relegation favourites last time. That was a horrid call at the time imo.

And the EU referendum to be 'Remain' and Teresa May to increase her parliamentary majority in the 2017 general election...
However, I started another thread about relegation odds, and in my view CPFC being 4th favourite for the drop seems about right at this juncture.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Probs

I'd have us more or less even with Southampton of the survivors and a tad behind Newcastle. Burnley look likely safe to me under Dyche - not in RH category but he'll pick up points when he needs to.

With your last 3 words being key.

We are still building.

I haven't bothered to look but if the 3 favourites for the drop are the new promoted then that just reflects the slack minded nature of pundits.

We've been favourites for relegation almost every season we've been in this league as far as I can recall

What have you been smoking?
The money men are never right.
They had Palace for relegation almost every season and every season we stay up comfortably

Even if the money men were usually right, how can you make a sensible prediction over a month before the race has started? No one has any idea what our squad will look like by the first game of the season and at the rate we're presently signing good players, there's good reason to think it'll be a lot stronger than it is today. It's like saying a Mercedes car will finish last in F1 next year, then a week later discovering Lewis Hamilton suddenly comes along to drive it. I'd pay no attention at all to the odds checkers. They reflect the views of the betting market, not the money men anyway.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I would say at the moment we should be favourites for relegation. We have a new manager, our squad is depleted, with just a couple of young promising players come in. Our two most skilful players, one is potentially out for a large part of the season and the other is wanting out. 3 or 4 injuries and we are stuffed.

However, presumably there are also a few more players to come in, hopefully a couple of experienced ones as well as younger players.
Even still I would expect us to be one of the favourites as we’ll have had a major overhaul and a new manager trying to implement a new playing style. Relegation favourites don’t always go down. I think Wolves could well be down there as well.

We are lowly rated as we have several question marks hanging over us. Who can we recruit? Will Vieira be a decent manager? Are our finances up to scratch? Will we overcome our Injury Curse? Will Zaha go?etc etc.
