Cahill to Rangers is just rumour and no-one knows about Clyne

Do we know that for certain or is it a case that he wasn't happy with the offer on the table and we weren't prepared to up it?

On Townsend - someone was saying in an earlier thread that the offer that was now in front of him was a "take it or leave it" offer - I am not at all ITK - but if thats true then it sounds as though the club were willing to keep him so long as the terms fitted in with what they were prepared to offer (presumably salary & duration of contract were the main discussion points)

So I guess at that stage the player has every right to see what else is out there (offer wise) before making a decision -

Also one would think that any offer from the club would have some sort of sign by date so that a decent preseason can be had / or replacement(s) found -

Cahill was offered 35k a week compared to his 65k of last year, (rumours only)
