According to multiple news outlets Wilf has told the club he wants to leave and hopes to seal a quick exit this summer. Interesting to see what happens because unless we spend big (unlikely) the prospect of starting the season without him or Eze is terrifying.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

All getting rather tiresome now.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

However, as they aren't behind a paywall I went with them. There might be more substantial quotes or evidence elsewhere. Edited by Canterbury Palace (03 Jun 2021 3.44pm)

Wilf has made no secret of his desire to go elsewhere, whilst clearly he will be missed if his heart is no longer with this club then we should just let him go at the right price. Personally, I think his form has not been that good for sometime now and you really do not know what Wilf is going to turn up, either, the skillful player, or the sulker. It's time for us all to move on!

He may want out, but another club needs to want him and be prepared to pay fair price. I don 't think his performances have done him any favours. Despite scoring 10+ goals last season, there were games where he was either anonymous or disinterested. That's without some of the complaining and getting wound up. Looking at any potential clubs :- Arsenal - Zaha's preference by all accounts. They now have a left sided player in Saka, whilst Pepe was at last showing some form on the right. They are more likely to spend on defence and midfield. Everton - They have no manager now, so unlikely to sign any players until they do. If they go with Nuno - will he want him ? Spurs - Again, no manager. But if Conte comes in, he will more than likely be looking at bigger fish from the continent. However, if Pochettino comes back there is a possibility. Leicester - never shown any interest. West Ham - They have Benrahma now, and not sure West Ham fans would be too pleased. Forget any of the others (Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City). Doesn't look promising for him unless a European club come in for him.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Edited by Canterbury Palace (03 Jun 2021 3.44pm) We've all been through this before but for him to make the move, certain boxes have to be ticked: i. The bid needs to match the club's valuation Who does that leave? No top 6 club will take him as anything other than a squad player. Only leaves the possibility of a move abroad. Is that what he wants? He got homesick in bloody Manchester so it seems unlikely to me. My bet is he'll be a Palace player until his contract expires in 2022 and he'll probably still be here for a couple of years after that.
