We may disagree with SP at times with the decisions he makes to move our club forwards but after the last few days it puts a lot of this in perspective and I sincerely hope we, and other fans from across Europe, no matter what club they support will stand together and act in a meaningful and long lasting way for our game.

I feel SP really hits the nail on the head with his views:

ESL or no ESL the game is and will be taken the way the big club owners want for financial gain rather than sporting reasons.

What has sneaked under the radar for the Champion's League is just as bad as the ESL

seen him do a couple of interviews - one with Gary Neville and the one on the BBC and thought he was bang on the money.

Mr Parish is so good for our club and for the game generally. He has had a few articles published recently in The Times where he contributes thoughtful items about topical subjects.

It's one of the reasons I was keen to see him in front of the cameras to give his views about the ESL proposition. He didn't disappoint. Even though he's not the most articulate speaker, he gets the message across well enough. I've seen him do three interviews since Monday night, including one with his old flame Susanna this morning.

Anyway, I've made my views about SP very clear previously. We should all respect the fact that our Chairman is a fan of our club, has been since he was four. We may not always agree with what we see him doing, but he sure is doing what he thinks best. Better him than an American corporate mogul eh?

Glad you raised the topic Mwncisee.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

While I agree Parish has behaved well and come across excellently in the last couple of days, to a point where both a Chelsea fan mate and an Arsenal fan mate both texted me on seperate occassions and said they wished they had a bloke like Parish running their club. But.... Hypathetically if say Palace had done a Leicester in the last couple of years and won the Prem, prompting these teams to invite Palace in to their little gang and collect a 500m entry fee (with the promise of another minimum 150m a year for participation) can you 100% hand on heart say he wouldn't be interested? I couldn't.
Its very easy for some of these owners to condemn it when they are not invited. Its Dortmund, Bayern and PSG I have the most respect for. They WERE invited in, looked at the integrity of the competition and said NO.

You could feel the chemistry, gave me a semi just watching.

Still, guess it’s the only semi I’ll be seeing this season

He doesn’t always get it right- but he’s been very good for us and people shouldn’t overlook his contribution in our most successful period at the top table. We’re on the right path - especially off the pitch and this is largely down to his leadership.

He’s one of the best chairmen out there imo and is always balanced and considered in interviews - I think he represents our club very well on the whole.

Indeed, fair play to our European friends.
