Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

When we return to live football at Selhurst it will be interesting to see which local purveyors of tasty comestibles have survived the last 12 months.

Mine is about 6 or 7 before and probably 6 or 7 after. Sometimes regret it with the state of the loos. But soon forget as I'm pissed. Being pissed I can also enjoy our matches, completely detached from the reality of them. Kind of a life choice for me.

Plus pie / hot pastry items before during and after. Curry later and MOTD in the unlikely event of a home win.

Doneagles is very nice, nothing wrong with it, however it is very obvious that they have a 'matchday' price list banner which goes over the usual price list, and although understandable, it does take the wee wee a little bit. Emek is lovely, nowhere else's kebabs taste like that. Getting a table is the hard bit. Again though all their meal deals don't apply on matchdays! The other place I go is what used to be called Fast Eddie's cafe. It's got a new name now (been so long I forget) but it is pretty much the same. Very good value, you have to be a little bit patient because they do get orders mixed up, but then its very busy and as long as you allow enough time they just about cope

Pre match food these days is any of the little corner shops near the ground, as my boy will be on at me for crisps, sweets etc at half time, and I'd rather spend a couple of quid in the little shop than five or ten times as much in the ground. It's a no brainer really, in the little shop you get served straight away, get a big selection, and pay normal rates for chocolate, crisps etc. At the ground you spend the whole of half time queuing / in the scrum, just to pay a fortune for whatever old s*** they've got. Even when I was in my teens and 20's going to football with my mates I was never one for a beer before the game. That might be because I was so local to the ground that I had no need to set off / arrive early, though these days it's because I've no desire to spend most of the game going back and forth to the loo once that cold wind gets to my full bladder! Back in the day I used to start my saturday night straight after the game, popping into as many of the pubs as I fancied, making my way back down Whitehorse Lane towards my neighbourhood. Somehow or another I'd always end up with my (non palace attending) mates along the way. How did we ever manage that before mobile phones?! Nowadays it's usually the stewards club next to Selhurst station if possible, as its so close to the station that gets me home. You've to pay a couple of quid to get in for some reason, and it's not exactly plush, but I like that in a boozer. Edited by TheBigToePunt (27 Mar 2021 3.52pm)

Back in the Championship days, oh what days 😂 scunthorpe and Doncaster! Me, the Mrs and the eldest would buy Tasty Jerk and take it in the ground and eat in our seats watching the players warm up. Those were the days. Now - Tasty Jerk after the game and eat in the car before we make our way back to Ilford.

Does multiple pints of guiness in the Pawsons count as "Pre match eats"? If not then how about a large chicken doner in Emeks, trying to devour it walking along the road whilst getting all manner of different sauces and grease down my top. All this trying to dodge the miasma of traffic choking up the road desperately trying to get out of sainsburys. I miss this.
