For me Eze. This type of game is not his bag. He hardly touched the ball and when he did he went back towards our goal and miss placed so many passes. I f we are going to set up this way again we would be better off playing someone else.

Reluctantly I agree, if we don't have any of the ball it is pointless playing him. I also think he has had a couple of poor/ineffective games, but are sticking with him becuae with injuries options are limited at the moment.

When on the ball looks class above our other players, but if we are going to play ultra defensive all the time we would be better off with Schlupp playing on the left, or even PVA.

To be honest if we are going to play this way we might as well play with 2 strikers and 8 defenders. I have to agree that Eze is out of his depth playing this exhilarating style of football. Don’t be surprised if he hands in a transfer request next season if Roy is still about.

up until that abs magnificent cross behind the defender I wud have said Townsend, followed by Luka whose 1st half through ball to Ayew when we were 3 on 2 was abs p*ss poor - Eze tried hard to carry the ball forward but there weren't enough options available so he ran into blind alleys, though watching him allow attackers to bypass him does grate somewhat, makes a token effort to block but just unbalances himself and allows passes, crosses and shots (Villa game!) to get by - I do understand, but he cud have been an outlet to take pressure off our defence but it didn't pan out that way. Ayew got Sky MoM and rightly so - he was brilliant, he had been a bit out of sorts but I think he should get more credit, he was a legend last night.

It was Eze but it was not his fault. If you are playing with 3 DMs dont include him as one. He should have been up top with JP. In the 2nd half he made two surging runs and was immediately subbed for indiscipline. Roy has managed to drain all the flair out of him. Only Roy could do that. He would look great in the Weeds team.

Not the 1st time he'd played that bad either, can't blame tactics for his laziness giving the ball away,

The Eze in CM tactical decision was bizarre. He was picking up the ball with his back to goal inside our own half. Usually he is decent at turning out of tight spots but he had a poor game.

Least effective player was Luka again. Contributed nothing in defense or attack. Gutted he isnt one of the payers out of contract in the summer as im sick of seeing him on the team sheet.

Guaita. Not because he was bad but for a goalie in the PL he really didn't have much to do considering how much pressure we were under.

Eze
Mitchell
Riedewald in that order.

I thought the 3 of them looked absolutely lost.

That triple save that started with the Trossard attempt and saw the ball ricochet on the edge of the 6 yard box was more than Luka and Eze managed to achieve. Also Guaita had to stay alert for long periods, just in case.

oh but it was his fault. Did you count how many times he gave the ball away in dangerous positions? He had a nightmare.
