Shame, RIP BK, good player.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

if anyone's still got the program for the 5-0 v Man U it has Bobby Kellard on the back down as substitute - it wasn't him, they made a change and it was John Craven. He left the club that month for Pompey - he was the replacement for Steve Kember when he went to Chelsea I've just read. Just before my time, but he was clearly a big part of our rise from the lower leagues to the top flight, and our attempt to stay there. RIP

I remember Bobby from his second spell with the club. Bert Head signed him and made him captain. He also put him on big win bonuses. That ensured Bobby demanded and got 100% from the team, they didn't want Bobby on their backs ! Sadly, it wasn't enough in the end. But I can still recall Bobby putting himself about and urging his teammates on. He could play a bit as well. A great character off the pitch too. RIP Bobby

Bobby Kellard I remember very well, It was Palace v Newcastle at Selhurst Div.1 can't remember the year. Was surprised to see him seemingly run the whole game, it revolved around him, scored the only goal 1-0. RIP
