According to The Athletic Sakho is out of favour after a clash with Roy. This is the first I'm hearing of it and presumed he was not playing due to injuries and poor performances when fit. I'd rather see him leave than Tomkins as his wages are way too high for a bench warmer. The fact Sam used to manage us and his history of signing former players is perhaps what is fuelling these rumours more than anything else.

A very good CB when fit and in a good side but we don't have a good side at the moment and his talents playing the ball out don't work for us. He might work out in the WBA side but probably not. I just can't see Big Sam wanting him in a struggling side but I am usually wrong.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Sakho must be frustrated by the lack of opportunity? Used to be a stalwart in defence but hasn't shown his old form for some time. If true, it could be a good move for him and for Palace.

Cant imagine anyone "clashing" with Roy !. But good idea to get him off wage bill.

Not surprised he has clashed with Roy, if he is fit should be playing without doubt. We are conceding every game and he can’t get ahead of Kouyate, give me a break.

Ideally we need to thank and move on both Dann & Sakho and bring in a first class young central defender.

At any one time any two out of Dann, Cahill, Kelly, Tomkins & Sakho are not at match fitness so one top rate young centre back to play alongside either Cahill or Tomkins, with the other (plus Kelly, Woods and Kouyate) as cover would be far better than the ever changing set up we have at the moment.

Whether we should consider such a deal depends on which Sakho we are dealing with.

Good Sakho has the valuable old school attribute of physical presence in the box. He basically gets in the way a lot, including blocking shots. At his best he does this very well indeed.

Bad Sakho is error prone and clumsy to the point of being a liability. He is hideously overpaid for what he offers, is terribly injury prone, and takes ages to get back up to speed when he returns from the treatment room, during which time he makes error after error. By the time he has had a few games to get back up to speed he's injured again.

Even when fit, Sakho has a wholly misplaced faith in his own ability on the ball. Some of his decisions defy all logic, to the point where you have to question whether a person putting the team before their own ego could ever make them.

I've always felt that if Sakho was a limited journeyman pro on whom limited expectations were placed then he'd be something of a cult hero by now. His clumsiness would be endearing, his errors part of the attraction. I could smile and say 'Well, he's never going to play in the champions league for Liverpool or anything, but he's trying his best I suppose...'.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that in fact he is our second most expensive signing ever, and is on six figures a week.

We've seen far more bad Sakho than good. Pound for pound he's been an awful signing, and we should cut our losses ASAP.

Totally agree. What he has achieved and what he is paid are worlds apart. Note to Parish & Co: no more Liverpool cast offs please!

He's out of contract in the summer isn't he?

He hardly plays any more due to both form and fitness so if any offer comes in it should be accepted. Even if it's just a loan to free up some wages.

When he was good for us he was an important part of the team but for the majority of the last two seasons he's been injured or a liability. So shake hands and go our separate ways would be good for all.

We seem to have learnt our lesson re Brewster this summer.

Agreed. Liverpool got £20m for Brewster, £15m for Ibe and £19m for Solanke. All three had literally never done anything in the top flight, and those prices were as much to do with 'brand value' as anything real.

Mate

In fairness when he has been given a chance of late - they have been littered with mistakes and costly errors.

Don't get me wrong I think a fully fit and focused Sakho should be in our first choice centre half pairing along with Cahill.

But if he's beef with Hodgson is that he is not playing, he needs to show the undoubted qualities he has and cut out the errors and show that is head is in the game and can be trusted..!!

Throwing his toys out of his pram off the back of a couple of abject and suspect performances ain't the way to do it..!!
