We kept attacking and leaving big holes at the back.

We had some great play in first half but were 3-0 down.

We had Chek at stop gap centre half who wanders, ball watches, hasn't got discipline or aware or concentration of being one. Look back at their 5 goal for example, he's in a midfielders position, hes left his CB position. Never let him again start a match in that position, when we other CBs available, hes a constant liability at CB. He did have some good touches but other times very poor!!

We needed a ball playing centre midfield!

We missed the Focal point in Ben. Ayew is not it.

Roy laughing after we have lost 7 nil.

We need new younger CBs, young and hungry. Dann, Cahill, Tompkins coming to end of the their premier status.

Roy is still naïve in this league.. the time he should have had more cautious tactics, at 5-0 down, he wasnt telling his players to defend and keep the score down, 2nd half should have been a tight defence. I like attacking but some teams will rip you apart..Roy never changed the tactics at 0-4.

Eze was not having great match. He will have learn alot.

Our corner led to their goal, Wilf took it too quick....

Wilfs magic is waning against big teams, so no big team will be buying him in Jan..

Moss is a CQQQ. Once again poor refereeing standards and favouring big teams. Had Milo kicked Henderson in that manner at 0-1 down, Milo would have been booked so why not Henderson when he fouled Milo.

When Trent kicked the ball away which should have been a booking for him, which upset VanHolt, our team lost concentration and once again (and again and again) a throw on deep in their area seconds later is a goal for them. Its so clear every match we do not positional training for throw ons while LFC are masters of it.

Is the rumour true, in time for Christmas (the time we change many managers) Roy has just offered Parish his resignation after this match?

What I did love, we did try again with some freedom and tried to attack. It reminds me when we lost 9-0 in 1989, LFC had 11 shots and one penalty and scored 9, it was one of those days. BUT if you watch that game too, we played well, take out the goals,, funny old game.

I have praised Roy for trying to create more attacking, but again it proved today Plan A was to attack and attack with no Plan B. But LFC were a different class today last week at Fulham appalling or was it Fulham were a better team??.. our team needed our fans today more than ever!!

We need a real leader as a captain!!

Look back to when we beat LFC on 23/4/17 2-1 there. Cabaye made a big difference, we need such a player!!

Ps Klopp is still complaining about 12.30pm Saturday kickoffs!!

Moss and Friend has it in for Palace, let along that Pratt ref at West Ham, he cost us, we needed Ben upfront today.

Bad day at the office today or was it??

A fit Ferguson, play Mitchell buy a young Centre Back, sign a youngster who is a box to box player and see the season out.

I am not going to read too much into this defeat, heavy though it was. We have played quite well in our last couple of games away at West Ham and at home to Spurs, looking more positive than earlier in the season.

As long as the players can pick themselves up from this hopefully we will get something at Villa.

In answer to the original post we learnt that if you build an elderly squad they cant handle 3 games in 7 days..

If it is any comfort this is not the worst ever home defeat as we lost 2-9 to Liverpool back in Steve Coppell's time. It was a blessing in disguise as it was the first game of the season and prompted the board to spend some money to fix problem positions. Best was a million for Nigel Martyn.

We learnt that the cliche rollercoaster doesn't do Palace justice it is more like a bungee jump into an alligator filled grand canyon with my old gran's knicker elastic as a cord

Cant see the board spending cash, the most disappointing part of today was Roy Laughing at the end id have rather him be ranting and annoyed. We may not have been there but boy I felt gutted.dont mind losing but the 2nd half was as bad as it gets, they looked brilliant because we didn't compete.

What we learned today is that Liverpool are inconsistant, one week they can be good the next they can be unplayable. Poor performances are few and far between and usually there is a mid week Euro game involved. It was just our typical luck not to get the LFC that went to Fulham and struggled.

One of the biggest mysteries in life is that loud stupid people normally don't have even the slightest inclination that they are stupid.

That was 9-0 and it was at Anfield.
I don’t remember a home defeat as large as today from my time supporting palace from the late 80’s.

There was a 6-0 at home first game of the season when Ray Wilkins went injured i think, but that was with Alan Smith

'I think we have a lot of experience in the group.' Perhaps Luka just means the team is too old.
Getting hammered at home is one thing but what I really can't abide is players commenting on it. It's inevitable that some clown will say something like: 'this can only make us stronger' or 'we can learn from this' or that statement of the bleeding obvious: 'we have to move on to the next game.' Just say nothing!. If a player or manager is contractually obliged to say something to 'Premier League Productions'or whateer it calls itself, say as few words as possible. As a society, we don't do concepts like 'shame' or 'guilt' any more and the players are more likely to be on the golf course than still in the changing room but can they seriously believe that they should draw their pay this week rather than, say, donate it to charity?
Even worse would be if someone were to say: 'well, look at Southampton. 0-9 to Leicester last season and look at them now.' Or: 'Well, Liverpool lost 7-2 to Villa'. in fact Luka has already said that.
To lose 0-7 at home when we've been seven consecutive seasons in the Premiership is much worse than getting stuffed 9-0 at their place in the late eighties.
The only good that can come from today's debacle is the acceptance that it is just a waste of time to play the likes of: McArthur, Ayew, Ward, Dann, Schlupp, Kouyate against any top six side.
All that matters is that this is NOT just regarded as 'one of those freak results that can happen during the Covid season.'For a group of highly paid professionals to lose 0-7 at a home is a disgrace. Will anyone at the club say as much?
