With Wilf out we need someone else up top who can try and conjure something out of nothing and Eze seems the most likely candidate, so I would give him the number 10 role and the freedom to roam. Dann and Kouyate looked shaky on Monday, but it's Dann I'd replace for Cahill. PvA was poor, but without Wilf we'll need all the attacking options we can muster. For me, I'd go with:

VG

Clyne Kouyate Cahill PvA

Townsend Jairo McArthur Schlupp

Eze

Ayew

My initial reaction was to think Roy will just stick with the same team however will be interesting to see if he makes any changes to things given the crap result on Monday.

After that performance however I am struggling for inspiration to pick an XI given there was an array of dire performances barring Clyne and Eze IMHO. Would porbably like to see Schlupp start to inject some pace and directness.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

At the press conference Roy has confirmed that Zaha is out which is a blow.
I expect Cahill and Schlupp will return but am not sure who will make way.

I reckon Bats will prob be dropped, putting Ayew back in the middle and Schlupp in on the left, with Eze in a free role

We'll prob see this:

Guaita

Clyne - Kouyate - Cahill - PVA

Townsend - Jairo - McArthur - Schlupp

Eze

Ayew

With a bench a something like:

Butland; Sakho, Dann, Mitchell/Ward, McCarthy, Batshuayi, Benteke

Yes, I can see the logic in this however Tomkins needs to come back sooner rather than later alongside Cahill if they are both fit. Eze will definitely cause more problems moving to the middle of the pitch and whilst Schlupp doesn’t have Eze’s guile he is direct and strong on the ball and will give us some aerial threat. Not sure who Newcastle will play as they have their own selection problems however we will have attacking alternatives on the bench if we go behind.

I agree that long-term Tomkins and Cahill are probably our best partnership, but bringing them both in after injury is a lot to ask and risky. Bruce has a similar old-school approach to Roy, so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

According to Bruce, Shelvey & Wilson are fit. Dont forget we have Luka back(which will be nice) & also McCarthy

Roy stated that those who missed the Burnley match will also be unavailable for this. So not sure McCarthy is back for this one.

I'd give Cahill a start for either Dann or Kouyate as his distribution is a bit better. And maybe Schlupp over Batshuayi or Ayew to push Eze inside in a 451. However saying that I don't think we'll change the shape so I'd expect to see 2 of Bats, Ayew or Benteke up top.

Yes, that is the team i would choose, but i woulnt be surprised if Eze stays on the left and Benteke starts in place of Bats

Judas team talk already finalised then. Supposedly Townsend had a stinker but with no obvious replacement will no doubt be in the starting line up. With these sort of limitations, expect to see a very similar line up to Monday's horror show I'm afraid.
