I just don't think our tactics are working to feed our strikers. We signed a top striker in Benteke who used to look a real class world beater for Aston Villa. We have destroyed him with our tactics and I firmly believe he still is a top striker just not with our tactics. And today we didn't seem to be able to feed Batshuayi who again is another great goal scorer. Something needs to change soon. We have a great squad of players IF USED PROPERLY. Players like Batshuayi, Benteke, Zaha, Townsend, Eze are a very exciting set of players on paper and if used properly. We have been underachieving for too long. Today we played in the M23 Derby where we should of been well up for it and very attacking yet we just sat back and defended. Sort it out Woy!

Probably a lot of truth in this. I guess there has to be a balance. It's very disheartening when a rivalry is disrespected like this. But it is also frustrating how many chances we create in comparison to every other team in the division - perhaps the whole bloody league!

This is a central point about the difficulty of being a striker under Roy.
Batshuayi won’t do the defensive work and hustling of Ayew so doesn’t suit the system and he’s a penalty box finisher rather than a grafter.
He also won’t score if the ball isn’t played into the penalty area more frequently.
It is clear that Zaha and Batshuayi will not work with the tactics that Roy employs.
Batshuayi had one decent pass today from Riedewald today and finished it well for the offside goal , but needs more than just one of these passes per game.
When Benteke plays he rarely gets a decent cross to attack in the air which is his main strength.
For a striker to succeed under Roy he would either have to be a superstar or defy the odds.

Patience required until the end of this season when Roy finally retires,as until then, absolutely nothing will change and hopefully,we will still be in the Prem.

Very concerning and sad to note how Roy's tactics have destroyed Benteke's confidence.
He was a goal scoring legend with Villa a few seasons ago and has a very impressive International goals tally with Belgium. In his first season with us,scored some 17 goals, which would simply not be possible under our current regime of stifling out any flair.

We all know he's not what he was and that achilles injury took his pace but I refuse to believe he doesn't have 5-10 goals in him in a side that puts good crosses in like Pardew/fat Sam did

We have had home games in the. Last couple of years when we had over 20 shots on goal. We can and have attacked in a very exciting way in these games. We’ve been there to witness it. So why on earth do we go out against Brighton with such an exciting team and just defend? I really don’t get it. Just as well we are not there as we would have been getting very frustrated. Although maybe that’s what is needed. Maybe we really are our 12th man.

He showed similar defensive intent vs the likes of Costa Rica and Iceland. It's not going to change for anyone.

Neither would make it on the pitch under Roy. They don’t offer enough defensively.

Harry Kane only made it in due to his corner taking ability.

The problem we have up front I'd thst we need done up thereto hold the ball up until others get up to help...otherwise it just keeps coming straight back. Bats first touch is shocking and cant hold it up. Zaha rarely holds it up neither does ayew. Benteke is probably best at doing it but with roy determined to play zaha centrally cant see benteke playing ahead of bats or Ayew.

Would like to see benteke and bats together with zaha and Townsend wide but that ain't going to happen...
