We still have another 10 and a bit days till all transfer dealings must end but how satisfied are we at what we accomplished during the main window that ended yesterday?

For me:
1. the addition of Ferguson, Eze and Batshuayi addressed areas of major concern.
2. the retention of Zaha was good
3. the unexpected offloading of Sorloth for real money was a pleasant surprise
4. the addition of a good number of youngsters to the development squad was satisfying and hopefully evidence of a longer term plan.

I know we were linked with a variety of other players but that always happens in these windows.

Overall, a good window for us and I'd give it 7/10 (I'd have liked a young CB and creative midfielder and another striker but we were never going to be allowed to spend the money needed for that).

For me it was a window that started fairly well but seems to have ended up a disappointment. It would not surprise me if there were no further incomings even from the football league.

We have an ageing squad, many who are coming near the end of their contracts and ideally wouldn't be extended. We have signed a young full back that would appear to be what is needed but how long until he is fit? Will he ever be fit, is what worries me. Another Jack Hunt?

We have loaned a forward who should be good, but we have loaned him. In a years time, we either have to spend the significant sum on him then or are back to the drawing board with another position to fill. Eze
is an exciting signing, so not all doom and gloom.

Zaha has been kept, but is he happy? What Wilf will we see.

I would currently give it a 4/10. Started brightly but failed to address enough issues that will give us a headache next summer window if we are still in the Premier League.

Compared to the last few windows, 8.5

It's more Skoda Fabia, verging on Ford Focus, than Ferrari Testarossa.

Cannot rate the window too highly as we haven't moved on any of our underperformers (Sorloth was already on loan). Whilst I appreciate our age issue couldn't be addressed all in one window, but we could/should have made more progress. Next Summer we will have as much of an age problem as we had this year.

At best a 5 so far and that is if Wilf performs better this year.

We have no idea whether Ferguson will be good enough as we have taken a leap of faith which may or may not work out.

Eze hasn't addressed yet and won't do as he is currently just keeping Schlupp's place warm. He will only be of benefit if allowed to play in his favoured central role.

Batshuayi will only score goals if he plays

I believe that all of the new recruits were released from their previous clubs as not being up to scratch so whether not not they will benefit our development squad or just make up the numbers will have to be seen

I appreciate that but as I recall Arsenal let Kane go as he wasn't up to scratch and I'm sure there are many more examples. Tine, of course will tell if we've picked up any gems

It's a 6 from me.

But zero chance of going bust.

Everton net spend £83m(and a new stadium to fund)
Leeds net spend £96m
Sheffield net spend £50m

Other spends are available!
