A couple of days until the season starts so time for a prediction that will inevitably look ridiculous in 8 months. For me Eze, Batshuayi and Ferguson are all top signings but, given the players we've been linked with, it still somehow feels underwhelming. Hopefully another couple arrive before the deadline. An attacking line up of Wilf, Eze, Ayew and Bats could be very exciting. I still worry about how old and injury prone our defence is and I think the absence of fans hurts us more than most. All that being said, I'm a lot less worried about relegation than I was a month ago and think we'll finish 12th. *Disclaimer* When Southampton beat us I reserve the right to say we're definitely going down.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

I reckon with the signing we have made and maybe a couple more to come 10th and definitely safe this year that's where we should be aiming for at least this season

I see the Beeb's McNulty's got us down for relegation along with Baggies and Fulham. He's even got the Weed in 17th! What does he know!!!

Teams that finish one season in a slump regularly get relegated the following year. I think 10th to 13th would be a reasonable expectation. A run in one of the cups would be nice. The pessermist in me says we will lose to Southampton, get knocked out of the league cup by Bournmouth, then we will be going into the Brigton game with 0 points from 4 games.

We needed a right-back - Ferguson I still think we need another right-sided midfielder/winger to challenge Andros, but aside from that anything else would be a luxury. Given we've addressed those key areas and added some youth we should be looking forward to a good season by our standards, although the number of defensive injuries we have is a worry. Personally I would take the points haul from last season but this time achieving it by playing more exciting and attractive football. I'm going to say 13th.

Like previous seasons, I don't see us starting well. Though, I will change my mind depending on any new arrivals before the window closes. However, I fully expect us to pick up when players start to return from injury - ie. Cahill, Tomkins, Ferguson, PVA even Benteke adds an extra option. With West Brom & Fulham almost certain to go, it will be a dogfight for that last relegation place. You never know what can happen during season, ie. no one expected Sheffield United to have such a great season, but I reckon the last relegation place will be between Brighton & Villa.

We've done well so far this transfer window and I agree we need a striker in next then probably an extra winger as we are over reliant on Zaha/Townsend. I have a feeling that Freedman is the driving force behind these transfers. Also worth noting that Burnley haven't signed anyone yet. McNulty thinks they will finish in 16th. If they lose Tarkowski before the transfer window is up I can see Dyche walking out.
