If you think Benteke is worth keeping then rest of post is irrelevant to you.

For me, Benteke is highly paid non performer. I have no idea if his contract extension changed his salary but for the sake of this example let's assume he is on 100K per week or 5.2 million per year.

If we were lucky we might get 10 million for him now but no one would pick up his salary IMO.

We have to accept he was a poor investment and more or less balances the money we got for Bolasie.

I would let him go on a free to get him off the
payroll and free up his salary for someone like Bats.

Benteke can negotiate his own signing on fee in lieu of a transfer cost, if he gets 10 million signing on fee and a salary of say 40K a week, over 3 year contract that earns him 16 million which you would think he would be delighted to achieve.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

An alternative way of looking at Benteke's contribution would be to say that without his goals in his first season with us we would now be in the Championship
