My son asked me this today...given how much Palace has been such a huge part of my life it was a hard question.

On talent, of those I've seen, Wilf or Wright. And I go Wright because he won games and his movement was so irrepressible he made midfielders wonderful.

For loyalty, Cannon or Speroni. But fir whatever reason I feel we are more in Julian's heart than Jim's.

For hard work, Geoff Thomas stands alone.

It's hard to say Wright of Wilf as a favourite even if, in my life they would vie for being the best. Thomas wasn't that loyal.

I think Speroni is my favourite ever Palace player. Who's yours and why?

Ps, I began watching palace from the late 70s but got banned from going by my dad until the late 80s. But I don't really remember the players from the early 70s, other than an incredible goal that Swindlehurst scored that I suspect is just a figment of my imagination.

Ps, if this is memory lane, please can a moderator move it? I think a lot of current and recent players qualify so...

Pps, I'm sure there will be a thread on this from years ago but I couldn't find it

Don Rogers. Just a joy to watch and a gentleman to boot. Always enjoyed watching him play even on his ‘off’ days.

I have supported the club for 62 years. A lot of you won't have seen Johnny Byrne play. Without doubt the best player to wear a Palace shirt.

Don Rogers

Pure Excitement each time he picked up the ball, and the way that he made the ball swerve when he floated it into the goal.

Once a Glazier, now an Eagle, Palace Forever.
