Every transfer window that goes by seems to get more frustrating.

We are linked with a player then the next thing you hear they have signed for West Ham,Southampton,Brighton etc.

We even seem to be fighting with teams that have only just been promoted every season.

Why do we still not seem like an attractive club to sign for after all these years in the Premier League?

I'm so Palace I don't even know it

It has nothing to do with stature and has everything to do with us trying to get a bargain all the time.
We overspent when we first came up and our main survival tactic was usually spend aload of money in January and just about scrape survival.

That tactic backfired on us as we were left with very little room to spend money in the following seasons due to FFP and our 75/25 wage to profit ratio.

The club now seem to be doing the opposite by trying to low ball everyone, and i think we miss out because other teams offer more.
We also wait too long, again its because we want a bargain and know that if we wait till the last day we might get a couple grand off, however it leaves us open to losing out due to other teams being willing to pay a few grand more in exchange for getting business done early.

Are you being sarcastic or are you really silly enough to believe that rubbish? Any team that has been up in the Premier league more then 2 season HAS money. The club gets a considerable amount just for staying up. We are loaded. We have a very tight consortium. We have money, we just never spend any.

The issue is that 75-80% of our income goes out on wages..we've hugely overpaid players for doing mediocre jobs.
Like stated above, until we get that down, we are effectively cash poor.

I'm not sure how you would define "established". In my view there are probably only about six or seven teams in the Premier League who don't start the season with an initial target of 40 points i.e. target one, avoid relegation.

I do understand where you are coming from though. We always seem to go back to square one at the start of each season.

Obviously finances are a factor. Steve Parish is determined that Palace will never go back to the parlous state we were in back in 2010, even, I suspect, if that means losing our Premier League status in the process.

On the whole I don't think Palace appear to be a particularly attractive proposition to up and coming young players or managers. Clubs like Sheff Utd, Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham, Leeds, Brighton etc. all probably look a better prospect than us with our old stadium, and dare I say it, old manager. As such we lose out when competing for players and end up having to choose from players in the twilight of their career, journeyman pros, players whose career has stalled, and lower division players.

This is a big reason

The other is SP always dragging deals out trying to reduce so others come in and pay original price.

Another thing is who really wants to come to Palace we play awful football, poor ground the training setup isn't great either.

If the likes of West Ham who have far better business owners come in for you that would be the choice everything about them is far a head of Palace even if the end league table shows us above much more appeal.

We need better business people in the club and to re organize everything it's a amateur mess it proves this with what goes on when it comes to submitting the books.

Lots of crying about about players getting paid too much then crying when paying too much then for Benteke and Sakho and others then the same people crying because we try to get a bargain and don’t pay over the odds.

Make your minds up. What do you lot want?

Who's crying? its a fact that the reason we have limited funds every season is due to our wage bill to income ratio, which by the way is the worst in the league.

This.

I reckon we must have the worst scouting network in the league. When was the last time (since Bolasie) we successfully bought a player who we have made a decent profit on? Can't include AWB as he is home grown.

No it isn’t the worst in the league, in fact it has been improving over the past couple of seasons.
