Can anyone confirm the rules on qualification? My belief is that if Man City's ban next year is upheld, the champions league qualification place will drop to place 5. The league cup has been won by City, and provided Arsenal do not produce a miracle, the FA Cup will be won by Chelsea, Man Utd or City, who look as if they will be in the Champions league places. To provide three teams for the Europa league wouldn't the eighth place team then qualify? We are in 9th and thus in touching distance of qualifying.

A European campaign would cripple us and our squad and finances. But it would be typical we’d qualify, play a game or two, or four if you include both legs, behind closed doors, and get knocked out. Many wait so long for this and can’t go.

Knowing our luck we'll scrape a Europa league place by finishing 8th only for:

No one knows about it yet and City will take legal action if they are kicked out which would be only Champions League anyway. I don't see Palace getting near the spots anyway Roy is making up a lot of excuses about injuries already. This is something I said in another thread even if we did get in a spot the rules would be changed so we wouldn't get it anyway the system is so corrupt.

They really are injured. Secondly, we have 7 games left, one of which is against the side just below us; 5 of which are against sides above us. Realistically, I think we can finish safe of the mini-pack behind, but are unklikely to catch the few clubs ahead.

Couple of conundrums assuming citeh lose their appeal, IF, manure or chelski win FA Cup, the losers WONT get a Europa slot. IF, manure win the Europa, they will be the 5th club in the ECL, as long as they finish 6th or below, that will mean only 2 EPL clubs will be entered to the Europa League. Clear? As posters have already mentioned, it would cripple us & a very real possibility we could be relegated. Nice to dream tho & i went to our away game in Turkey in the inter two bob skoda carboot cup back in 1998.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

The rule is that next time we qualify for 'Europe' they will then change the rules so that we don't qualify. That may not make sense to our younger readers!
