This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

So much continuity and certainty in Dyche. Stay up at a relatively low cost, slowly improve the finances.

Dream. If we can make it happen.

We will just have to tolerate more ultra-pragmatic football for 2-4 more years. One day, we will evolve the playing style. One day.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Hopefully, but will we still be in the Premier League when we do? I'll take the pragmatic approach if it keeps us up.

Name one modern team of limited resources which has successfully evolved their playing style away from pragmatic and organised, and gone on to enjoy a sustained period of success.

It might not be pretty, but it’s effective; and if that keeps us in the top tier, knocking on Europe’s door, then It’s good enough for me.

It certainly beats playing in the old third division!

I’d take Roy for next 5 years.

Totally agree, although I am not wishing to get rid of Roy but his age is against him.
Heard an interview a while back with someone (can’t remember who) who had been on coaching courses with SD. They said what an excellent coach he is and is unfair to tarnish him with being a long ball merchant, he utilises what he has available to the best of his/their ability. Let’s not forget he got Burnley into Europe but was then not backed by the board. He would be my first choice, do not want Howe anywhere near the club, totally overrated by the media as he is young and English

Let's not be the new Stoke.

They had years of stability under Pulis, and then thought they were better than that. They wanted progress, so they brought in Mark Hughes and a load of foreign youth prospects that were untested in the Premier League.

They went down, and have stayed down since.

Dyche might not be inspirational, but he's a quiet success and his style of play suits our players. If he was to come (and bring a few players too - Tarkowski and McNeil would be good shouts) then we might not be breaking into Europe but we shouldn't have to spend most of the season looking over our shoulder.

A few years of mid-table mediocrity would do the club no harm.

I am a fan of Roy. I think we are very lucky to have him and is a stable manager we have been after ever since we came up. He has bought stability to the management after the revolving door of managers prior to him. I think he gets good solid performances from what he has available to him. I also think the criticism he get for the way he plays is a little unfair.

I have always been impressed with Dyche whenever I have heard him speak and he does seem to be in a very similar mold to Roy. He does feel to be a natural successor to Roy and will be interesting to see how this plans out. If he does come I would still love Roy to be at the club. Could he takeover from Doygie as Director if Football?

Also might be worth considering that I suspect Dyche has had Benteke style forwards in the past, Woods for example and plays to a style that will, suit these players. Could he get the best out of Tekkers? Dyche is also used to forming tactics without flair players like Wilf if we sell him this summer.
