I don't post very often, but read a lot of these forums, which are great (most of the time!). I am setting myself up here, but raising it anyway!! Zaha? Am I the only one that isn't overly excited by this frustrating player? His stats are not great for a player in his position, and I mean the important stats - goals and assists. 60, 70, 80 million for a player that has scored 35 goals in 208 appearances and only 24 assists! bearing in mind his position. Averaging 5 goals a season and 4 assists a season - whoopee! If you take PVA (a left back) his stats are 20 goals and 13 assists in 186 apps (Premier League) and Andros - 21 goals, 21 assists in 202 apps. Zaha's stats are not far superior in proportion to the fuss that is made about him! Personally, I find that when he is not on the pitch, we stop trying to hoof the ball to him every time and watch him fall over, get clattered, or give the ball away and look to play football up the pitch. Last night bad example as Liverpool would have thumped anybody in that mood!! Sorry if I upset the Zaha fans, but I feel we should have cashed in already. The longer he plays as he is, the less we'll get for him.

Sorry if I upset the Zaha fans, but I feel we should have cashed in already. The longer he plays as he is, the less we'll get for him.

Other teams have to setup up to handle him this normally means 2 / 3 players on him all the time which makes space for the rest of our team. - He wins fouls in dangerous places. - He is an outlet, give him the ball in a tight position and he will hold onto it, beat his men, run the clock down or get fouled, that takes the pressure off the rest of the team.

- Opposition tactics. Other teams have to setup up to handle him this normally means 2 / 3 players on him all the time which makes space for the rest of our team.

- He wins fouls in dangerous places.

I think we will miss him when he goes.

I concur with these sentiments.
I have continually expressed similar sentiments outside of HOL.

I do understand that Badger. Don't get me wrong, he's a good kid and winning fouls and holding up the ball is as important. Maybe, just maybe we would stop relying on this one player and invest in a couple of decent players and get back to being a team. Palace have such potential - a really good bunch. The focus needs to come away from Zaha.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good kid and winning fouls and holding up the ball is as important.
Maybe, just maybe we would stop relying on this one player and invest in a couple of decent players and get back to being a team.
Palace have such potential - a really good bunch.
The focus needs to come away from Zaha.

Think the club and Zaha have reached the crossroads and now is the ideal time to rebuild for future as we are now safe. Sell wild to highest bidder and add at least 3 younger players like west broms ferguson and get ready for next season.

He has lost some pace and that is affecting his performances all season.

Not a hope of anybody paying decent money for Wilf. He will be with us till the end of his contract. All of the top clubs have better players than him in that position. Just look at Mahrez, He is 5 times the player that Wilf could ever hope to be.

He has been amazing for us and il happily have him for another few years but his talent is on the down slide. He has lost some pace and that is affecting his performances all season.

Newcastle and Everton are the only clubs I can see coming in for him but not at the price we are likely to ask but would he want to go to a club with very little chance of Champions League football? Probably not.
