Millwall are planning to expand the Den to 34,000 capacity to meet their 'Premier League requirements'. If we don't a) get the main stand redeveloped and b) stay up, then South London may no longer be 'ours'....

we can't be complacent but Millwall just have a hard core and very little fair weather support whereas we'd get 30k a week easily if we expanded to Millwall's planned capacity - improving the stadium is crucial - the club can't stand still or they'll go backwards fast

Since Millwall were promoted to the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 season they haven't really attracted large crowds : 2017-18 Average 13,368 22nd in the Championship I am not convinced that they would fill or nearly fill a 34,000 stadium on a regular basis if they got promoted to the PL.Suspect they would do against the likes of W.Ham. Would be full of tourists if they expanded that much and got promoted, would create a toxic atmosphere and completely change the club putting off most of their real fans, like it has at West Ham.

The Millwall expansion to 34,000 sounds more like 'pie in the sky' to me. Aspirations being turned into articles by journalists looking for clicks.

Actually think Westfield and their promise to build affordable housing. I discussed this with my Millwall mates on Monday they do not believe it will ever happen. This is all about profit err sorry I mean regenerating the local area around the stadium. The club owners have finally seen off the rival bidders and now have a clear run for a housing development the promise of a rebuilt stadium is a PR stunt for the supporters with the usual caveats e.g. it will never happen unless Millwall are in the PL and sold out. Nothing to see here folks.

If they beat us to enlargement completion there would be the opportunity of Palace matches being played there while Selhurst Park is transformed. However, non of us know whether they are looking north, and the possibility of providing an intimate East London stadium for the WHFC refugees. .

The plans that were revealed in a fanfare, in the final analysis, only amounted to a replacement for the decrepit old stand, alhough the proposed new structure looked impressive and is much needed. All other parts of the ground including the archaic 'Arthur Wait' with it's dastardly facilities are not included in any upgrade so I would suggest that the proposed new stand would not equate to a major transformation of Selhurst Park although of course it would be an improvement and increase the corporate facilities with the extra revenues they bring.

Plus it seems less and less likely to ever actually happen.
