Indeed. Let's get behind him and the club. i know as palace fans we have had to be pessimistic with recent purchases over the seasons but he has got pedigree. If anything, the competition in the squad will help get the best out of whatever strikers we end the window with. Bentekkers or Wickham will go out on loan.

When he was in Turkey, fans were desperate that we signed him, and slated the board and Freedman for not doing enough to get him in for £25m. They saw this as a lack of ambition. They were basing his perceived ability on the fact he scored 24 goals in Turkey. He's been disappointing in the premiership. Perhaps we dodged an expensive bullet. Now we have signed him on loan fans are disappointed, as they see it as a lack of ambition. On a side note, Sorloth is banging them in in Turkey at the moment.

Good that we have done some business in an area in which we are weak in the first half of the window (what a change). "I’m not in the interest of padding out the squad. We are actually short of players in the central attacking areas. We're adding someone we need to be there and will provide competition and is more than capable of being the first name on the teamsheet. No one that we sign this window will be there to pad out the squad."

I'm all in favour of this. He's scored more goals in the prem than benteke in the past 2 years, risk is low, its another body and allows whatever funds we have to be spent elsewhere. KWP on loan plus say one other full back permanently and this will be a good window.

Hopefully he comes here with fire in his belly to prove Everton wrong. We play a different style to Everton, so he could work out here. I'm always happy to give anyone a chance and the club has had plenty of time to decide if they think he will fit. Quite frankly, with our injuries anyone with experience is welcomed at this point and it leaves us plenty of time to turn our attention to other areas of the squad. Before he signed I predicted he'd arrive and then come off the bench and score the winner tomorrow. Now that would definitely help us forget he didn't want to come here two years ago!!
