In Roy's post match presser, when discussing our growing list of injuries he was asked about the Jan window and he threw a real dig towards the yank owners and they're unwillingness to spend money, if anyone hasn't seen it, I advise you go on the app and watch it. It's about time someone called them out.
It seems Roy has come to the end of his tether with the way this club is being run.

Elastic bands and shoe strings comes to mind. At times Roy frustrates me enormously as with the first 70 last night but overall he has done a superb job with such a beyond limited budget.

Are you serious ?

They have been trying to offload their investment in Palace for months now. Why would they throw more money at something they want out of ??

You're pointing your fingers at the wrong people here.

I wholeheartedly concur with these sentiments.

how has the club got itself the highest wage bill versus revenue (78%) when the squad is so limited and poorly balanced?

BHA just passed around us for 70 minutes - it was embarrassing.

Yes we have injuries but can a Dutch international on £45k not understand positional play? Can our midfield not move into space when we have the ball?

How can a prem team who play 2 wingers not have more than 2 in the squad, how can we be left with 1 right back (after the left back issues a few years ago!).

I'm sorry this should not happen.

I understand the yanks want out, but surely their asset is worth more the higher we finish? That display last night was the culmination of a couple of very poor transfer windows. This needs to be sorted in January, otherwise we'll be struggling come May.

I suppose the real question is how much can be invested in the transfer window without the agreement of the Americans.
Parish has said before that for expenditure above a certain amount the two Americans and he all have to concur. One can only speculate on the figure.Ip
Reading between the lines it seems that the Americans have been content with a strategy of loans and free transfers and Roy doesn’t think that strategy will work in January.
If we’re on around 30 points in January the Americans could take the view that relegation is unlikely so why splash the cash, in particular if they are looking to sell their investment.
Why I have some sympathy with Roy and believe he is doing a reasonable job, I think he could get more from us from an attacking standpoint with the available players.
Look at Sheffield United for example who don’t have a better squad than us and play to win every game rather than just sit back and hope for a break.

Their striking options are McGoldrick,McBurnie,Mousset,Robinson,Sharp,Clarke.
They spent £37 Mill on strikers in pre-season.
A tad different to us !

Don't accept that argument.
Zaha is valued at £80 million, Benteke is a regular in the excellent Belgium squad and cost £30 million, Wickham cost around £9million as did Townsend; Ayew is up for Africa player of the year.
Meyer was one of the highest rated young players in Germany.
Camarasa was player of the year for Cardiff in the Premier League.
To look at it from the standpoint of summer expenditure in isolation is a narrow view.
I would take our forward options ahead of Sheffield United but it’s a matter of how they are utilised.

By Parish but how much is he valued at by potential buyers?

Under £50m, if the only two offers we had in the summer are an indication, and I somehow doubt that's increased since, probably the reverse actually.

PatrickA said this:'If we’re on around 30 points in January the Americans could take the view that relegation is unlikely so why splash the cash'

I have been thinking along very similar lines. The more successful Roy is in distancing us from the threat of relegation, the less likely we are to spend in January, no matter how thin the squad obviously is.

As to 'pushing on to the next level' that some crave, I can see the owners arguing 'why, getting into the Europe League would be a disaster for a club of our size?'

Not excusing his comments but Sorloth may well be right that staying in the PL is the limit of our owners' ambition in spite of anything SP says.
