Looking at the squad I believe we need to clear some of the big earners who are not playing and release the funds for the areas we know we need to strengthen.

Names who come to mind are Benteke, Jairo, Sakho, Mayer and Camarasa, must be the thick end of £400k a week in wages, plus any transfer fees involved.

Know a few people will argue that is a lot of players, but we could spend wisely and get a new full back and forward.

I think that you are on the wrong forum. This is Crystal Palace you know

With 5 goalkeepers already making up the 25 we would need to sign some players first or we could end up Hennessey and Henderson in the first XI as well as Guiata if we have some injuries.

Not really sure we need a clean out. The squad is thread bare as it is. I'm sure if the club got responsible offers for the players you mentioned, they would consider them but I don't think we really have the luxury of booting anyone out the club until we have others come in

True but we are still spending beyond our size on wages. We either need to cut wages or be bigger.

Need to get rid of the 3 on 100+ grand a week , then we can set a new wage structure, none of the teams round us have players on that sort of money. 60 a week should be enough for our level, reckon Burnley, Bournemouth , Southampton etc don’t pay much more.
The Benteke deal f*vked us as then Zaha would have wanted at least the same and it set the bar for when Sakho was bought.

What we should do is get rid of any high earners who aren't worth their salaries for high transfer fees. Then we should buy under-rated superstars for low transfer fees and wages on long contracts.

That's what we should do.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

We should have got rid of high earners, but we renewed their contracts, so we have to keep them as no one will buy them unless on a free, unfortunately.
We will have to do with what we have I'm afraid, which is surely enough to stay up anyway.

We did have a very strict wage structure in place for a long time but that was broken in order to sign Cabaye and that was a can of worms (understandably). I think we agreed to "smash" our wage cap and offer him £60k a week which kinda seems peanuts in hindsight! I may be wrong on the exact figure but the point stands.

All I know is that with the piss poor scouting, contract extending, high salary spending etc this club is severely lacking when it comes to practical matters. The buck stops with Parish.
The opportunity was there to release two high earners who do not contribute, but what happens?

If this were to be done then January would be the worst time to do it.

The squad needs a refresh next summer but I share the concern about the club's abilities in the transfer market.

There's definitely some big wages that need shifting but as others have said to do too much in Jan could be silly.

We need to get younger across the park.

I'd like to see us bring in Kyle Walker-Peters and Nathan Ferguson to compete for RB spot, both can provide cover for LB and Ferguson has been touted to shift to CB in the future. With Cahill and Tomkins plus others I don't think there's been a better time a Palace to start learning what being a CB is all about.

Those to go. If (big IF) someone was to offer over 10m for Benteke I can't see how we'd turn it down providing we have someone coming in (think RHs comments are a bit of a smokescreen). Chalov, Morelos and Barbosa have been mentioned and I like the look of them but they won't be cheap - so I don't think there'll be any serious investment up top until CB had departed.

Dann would be another who if an offer came in I think it'd be time for him to move.

Then come the summer the fututes of Sakho and Meyer will need to be assessed.

All of this however is dependent on other teams actually being interested which considering that all of those mentioned are not playing due to form, fitness or competition doesn't really place any of them in marketable positions.
