Might be a totally false memory, but didn't he nearly die in the hurricane after being hit by some flying debris? Couldn't find mention of it on Wiki, so may have been thinking of someone else. Still, in the spirit of the occasion, I shall say this only once!

He died in a care home, and 75 was far too young for such accommodation. I think that the incident did contribute to his early demise.
