retires with immediate effect! Strange one - although I guess as a world champ he's achieved what he set out to do. As a new(ish) dad I imagine he'll want to enjoy the time that the millions he'll have earnt allows him to spend with the family.

A true winner retires although nearer to home,the legend in his own mind, who certainly isn't, remains in charge to torture us fans.

I think James Hunt did the same its quite logical that to be a World Champion once is enough altho its safer you are still at considerable risk - and for what you've already done it.
