As we all know we have quite a few politically correct people in here but, what is everyone's reaction. Are they correct in refusing or should they have been given compensation or shorter jail term.

My answer is they should not be allowed to protest against what happened to them. They could have taken lives of innocent and defenseless people. Just like the rest of those that find terrorism killing people for the name of their belief. Hope they rot in a prison cell and never see freedom again

They have the same rights anyone else has, they appealed and the ECHR made a decision, that their rights had not been denied, and the actions of the Police were entirely lawful.

Job done.

It was up to them whether they answered the questions or not, without a lawyer present.

Should've been told to sod off, rather than waste anyone's time.

Optimistic as ever

As it usually does. It also looks at UK cases much less than other countries because we have a pretty good legal process. Terrible news for Daily Mail readers

Apart from the bloke who got €18,000 not too bad, but a sod off would've been better.

Everyone no matter what they've done are entitled to basic rights. They in turn have the ability to question if those rights were abused. ECHR agreed they weren't. All sorted.

Doesn't meant they shouldn't rot in jail as a a result of their crimes, but it's a dangerous world in which we abolish rights of anyone.

"But judges ruled that the police were justified because of the urgent need to protect the public"

just about covers that argument.

They should be thanking the authorities for being lenient enough to only imprison them.

Having access to a lawyer isn't a basic human right. Having access to air is a basic human right.

When you've done what these people did, only very basic rights like air should be allowed. Evil scum bags.
