I am currently in Canada where they have for quite a while. Even have Braille imprinted. Easier to handle and feel better generally. A 'yes' from me.

How thick is the plastic ?
Will people be chopping up their gear with them , or rolling them up ?

If I was a counterfeiter (which I'm not) the fact that they are polymer coated would make them quite easy to copy *cough* especially if you had a dye sublimation printer.(which I have).....

Never underestimate the tenacity of a forger. 5 pound notes forged and sold to small time crooks at 2 pounds ago are going to be profitable. I remember a few years ago about someone who made 1 pound coins out of water and sand he would put them between that paper you get frozen beef burgers on then would go around amusement arcades and use the change machines. A lot of hassle admittedly but apparently very profitable and it also left no evidence.
