Off to Cornwall on Friday for a week and having not been for 30 years, can anyone recommend anywhere worth a visit. 4 adults 2 kids (age 6). We will be staying in Looe but up for travelling anywhere worthwhile.

Thanks in advance

Most caravan tourist places have leaflets for places to visit. Newquay is nice with a good pub over looking the beach. St Ives is also lovely, Penzance with St Michaels Mount, but being honest most of Cornwall is nice to visit.

We have a cottage on the coast hired out as our base so no caravan leaflets (Normally love sifting through them). Thanks

Nice fishing villages to the south ( Polperro, Fowey and further St Mawes ). Falmouth is quite a large port, but nice with it. Port Isaac is nice on the , north coast.

Better beaches to the north ( Bude, Watergate Bay, Camel Estuary, Widemouth Bay ).

Eden Project good for kids, Lost Gardens of Heligan good, but only really a garden. Lanhydroc House and gardens. Launceston has it's own castle but is small and not a lot to do.

Keep to the coast as the middle is pretty naff.

I've not been, but I heard some time ago that St Ives and Carbis Bay were reputedly the best beaches in Britain. In fact I had been recommended to the Carbis Bay Hotel. Also heard about Northcott which is a beach not many have heard about - has few fishing cottages and a tea room.

This is a useful guide which you'll find available in hard copy at various places (supermarkets, pubs etc) throughout Cornwall.

A stockbroker urged me to buy a stock that would triple its value every year. I told him, at my age, I don't even buy green bananas!

If you go that far down, Carbis Bay beach in between Hayle and St Ives is my favourite beach in the country, golden sands and it's tucked away a bit so never gets too manic and not sure if it's still there as I haven't been for a few years, but there was a Wimpy actually on the beach which always swung it for me

Newquay..you are kidding right? That's Croydon -on-sea. Best beaches are around the North... Harlyn and Treyanon beaches are good for smaller kids.. shallow and clear.

Camel Trail and a visit to Padstow is always a good day out too.

.....bring on the zzzzzzzzz's.
