I am likely to get majorly shot down for this, but I'm getting fed up with the political correctness of putting some of the womens sport on prime time tv, along with female pundits giving analysis on the mens version of the game. Example 1 :- Saw that Somerset were playing Kent tonight in a T20 game (me being a Somerset supporter), only to find Sky had a womens international cricket match on. I would love to know the viewing figures for this game, does this really attract that amount of viewers ? If TV companies want to cover women's sports then fine, not a problem, but give them their own channel and stop taking away slots for other matches. Example 2 :- Having female players giving analysis on mens football and now mens cricket. What do they know about playing sport at that level ? Was it not recently that U-15 boys team beat the Australian womens football. Surely then the boys on that team should be on football focus giving analysis on the premier league. Conversely, I would not expect PL players to be giving analysis on women's football.

Womens tennis at Wimbledon would be so much more fun if the court was covered in jelly and the players played in bikini's.

It's a bit of a daft analogy as neither Charles Colville nor Henry Blofeld played first class cricket and one or two of the female cricketers give a more insightful commentary on men's matches than idiots like Phil Tufnell. The women's team is going through a bit of a purple patch which may have something to do with their coach Mark Robinson who you may have noticed is neither a woman nor has any international experience. I don't like watching the game as it's too slow for my liking and I watched half an hour of the England - pakistan Ladies game last week and the pakistani opening bowler was only bowling at 60mph but the commentators were all men with the exception of Charlotte Edwards which according to you was wrong

I would love to know the viewing figures for this game, does this really attract that amount of viewers ? Maybe SKY changed the schedule due to the France v Germany game being played and the chunk of their 'viewing audience' that game would've taken, whereas the figures for the ladies cricket match would hardly (i'm guessing) be affected?
Time to move forward together. |

Sky are desperate to promote women's sport under the pretense of equality and health but I'm inclined to believe that it;s all about trying to increasing their viewing figures by attracting women. Let's face it, most women's sport is of such a low standard compared to the men that it is not worth watching.

Henry Winter is on a million a year as the chief football writer for The Times and he's never played at league level, surely a woman who has played internationally or in the highest league level would be more qualified to speak about the game from an analytical standpoint than him ?

I thinks that's insulting to women (if that is Sky's premise). I'm sure (in fact I know)that women will want to watch the most viewable sport there is.

As I've said many times on this board - they should be at home getting the dinner on.
