For selling a dodgy tikka! What's the world coming to? They don't jail burglars, let Paedos off with a slap on the wrist ! It seems like the justice system rates crimes against health and safety, fraud and motoring are worst, everything else is a minor insignificance

It wasn't a dodgy curry though. The guy ordered his without nuts as he was allergic. The owner started using different ingredients which contained nuts so he could save money.

I'm surprised that people with severe nut allergies eat out (or have take aways) at all as you are putting your life in the hands of people that you don't know

If the customer had just slipped into a korma he may have got away with it.

Genuine question No, you're alright with almonds*, it's the peanut family that have some moody chemical in it but almonds are in a different group. Used to have a buddy that I spent a worrying night in St. Thomas' A&E with after she had a bite of someone else's veggie burger - so I swotted up. *mostly - some lucky people are allergic to the lot I think but it's rare

I also believe that the investigation team went in with the Food Standards Agency people and ordered a "nut free" meal as a few of the group had nut allergies. All of the party were served meals containing nuts, AFTER the dude had passed away. So whilst I do dislike health and Safety Nazis, in this case they have done a good job. Some one died a needless death as some shyster was trying to save money! Although in my book the sentence was soft.
